He did not ha e problem with her learning cooking..but he can see whats is foreshadowing..thats why overreaction..

I perfectly understand his intentions , and he is worried about how she is being treated in Dixit house , but he could have handled the situations better , just like he talked to her when she was in self -doubt . Being a parent , also from his previous interactions I expected him to encourage her to learn it but by pointing out that , do it not for anyone but for you . Instead he was asking , for this only we had spent money to educate u , as if she is doing something wrong by learning to cook . I really felt he was overreacting ...

I understand your POV.ans no doubt he overreacted but I know why he did that because before one day before he tried to make her understand that this is not what we taught you ..and he is being strict with his reaction and words because he is sensing that sona is not following his advice so he might have thought she is still in hat low self esteem world and if he will not be strict ..it will be harmful for her.he can sense it..ans he is sensing it all right

Isnt this exactly what Sona told Neha about learning English! Learn because that is what you want to do not because it is expected!

Yes. He is a perfect father and he doesn't want his daughter to change for others sake. PERFECT. 👏
Now let us open our eyes and see the society around us. Show me one single house where they are going to accept their DIL the way she is. If Mr. Bijoy bose thinks that his daughter shouldn't change for others sake then i am afraid that she will never get married. Unfortunately, this is the reality of our current society. Even if you are PM or President of India, When it comes to your responsibilities at home as wife or DIL nothing changes. PERIOD.

When Mr.Bose said that we all use to help your mom when she was working, i really felt elated to hear. But these kind of understanding families are not even 1% exist in our society even today. I am saying this from my experience.

Bijoy understood her daughter too well...and also the convo prior day with Sona...he was not over reacting but he wanted to make sure that his daughter is accepted and respected for what she is and no body is trying to change her before accepting...Loved that he is thinking very correctly and preciously as Father and know her daughter too well...

Bang on ! Actually he raised a question on our Indian mentality...I think people have now changed a lot. I couldn't relate with his thoughts.
I really didn't expected that from baba...I didn't understand him...was he blaming Dev for Sonakshi's sudden interest in cooking...he went over my head... Indian women are not so silly... my sister have two sons and both knows cooking...and u will be surprised to know that my daughter is 7 yrs old and except chopping she can cook anything...it's not I forced her to or we don't have servants or cook but it's up to her...it's a good pass time too...
Even I learnt cooking jus for my daughter...nt at all for my husband or in laws... before fixing marriage my father already told my in laws that our daughter dont know cooking or any house hold jobs...but they accepted me as I was & am..

I don't remember his exact words , but I think what he meant is you should not do cooking just because you are a wife of someone , for that you can arrange a person who prepares food . You can make food only if you love to do so . Your mother prepares food cause she loves cooking.

I liked his words . what a refreshing change from the majority of Indian parents? I agree with him too , Sonakshi can learn cooking if she wanted to do so , not for her husband or MIL . I know this notion is not acceptable in India but isn't this a progressive thought? Having said that I agree that cooking is not a bad thing , it is an art IMO

over the top over reacting by baba, she decided to try cooking -it was her choice and she should have been allowed to do it without being dragged out...
Another overreaction is the full family landing up at dev s residence without sona or devs knowledge😲 ..why is sonas dad rushing things,..i understand his concern for sonas well being,🤔but first he should have had a talk with dev on how he plans to take things forward with sona...without any discussions he lands up full battalion at ishwari residence ...all this is making ishwari more insecure-that lady is being rushed into taking decisions she is not even accepted yet...
it's like 😉sonas family toh gaadi mein accelator dabaa ke baithii hai whereas ishwari is not even ready to start the car😆...obviously thisdev-sona ki gaadi stuck to a halt
