Firstly, you are right. It is not wrong for anyone to learn cooking. Infact, I would love it if Dev went in to the kitchen when his mom is cooking and said that since Sona doesn't know how to cook, he will learn it instead. Why not, right? It will be so cute on Dev's part... and Ishwari is insecure anyway.

I think Bijoy's reaction was on account of a couple of things -
1. Although he may not have realized his own insecurities when Asha voiced it out a few days ago about whether Sona will be respected in that house or not, he must have subconsciously felt that insecurity when Sona doubted it herself in a way... Like is she good enough for Dev because she doesn't know how to cook and do other household chores type.

2. As a parent, you think you have the best children. And seeing a daughter married off and go away from you is a hard thing for any parent. Bijoy has always been very proud of Sona and her accomplishments. While he is always taunting his son, he is only praises for Sona. Now, for whatever reason, she is trying to change herself, even if it is just a little bit. When you are already concerned that your daughter will have to adjust to a new environment, and she is trying to change herself to fit in there, you can get very emotional about it I think.

Learning Cooking is not bad thing and I liked baba saying you learn cooking if you want to not because some one forced. But I Don't like his jumping guns on dev With out knowing the real reason. I find he over reacted there. Sona just cutting onions it was very small thing . suddenly If she jump learning cooking all dishes in one day then his reaction will be justified. Then ha can think of some one is forcing her. But I think it's normal to girl learn cooking when they are getting to married in fact parents themselves say that ab tho khana pakana seekh jao warna pathi ko kya khilogi 😆 if we talk about new generation boy ya girl every one knows basic knowledge of cooking. It's not big deal

Whether it is a guy or gal they need to learn basic cooking so that they can feed themselves ...l think Bijoy is overeacting. ..what does he expect before marriage Asha will feed Sona and after marriage how will Sona run her home...will they eat outside food everyday or does he expect Sona's futture husband to hire a cook for her ...not saying Sona should only cook even her husband can help her but at least she should be able to run a household. ...running a household is not a joke ..you cannot say I will cook when I like ...
Forget marrying Dev even if he married the best guy there will be some expectations from a gal just like how there are some expecrations from a guy ...like he should be well settled and must be earning...will Bijoy marry her daughter to someone who doesn't have a job because the guy will only work if he likes ? No right similarly what wrong if there are some expectations like that gal should know how to manage her home...both husband and wife needs to learn basic cooking...bringing feminism into everything looks good in books ...in real life it doesn't work

Not sure what exactly were the words and the situation the Bose family was through when this happened.. But this topic intrigued me in general...
It cannot be about learning to cook - be it a boy or a girl... Every one of us enjoy eating food... If there is no cooking how else we will get anything to eat... 😆
It needn't be a hobby.. it needn't be a profession.. it needn't be a passion... Just like a basic need for survival... It's all good to know it... 👍🏼

If for someone who don't like it... or not inclined towards it... All of a sudden if he/she learns it, there is some reason behind it... Here the reason being Sona trying to fit herself in the Dixit family... inside Ish's kitchen... That's so wrong.. very very wrong... I can very well see the little girl's intention here.. It could be just a way to show Ish that she can adapt to the needs of the new household... It could be a way to tell Ish that she's not adamant around when a need arise.. It could be a way to tell Ish that she'll take good care of Dev in his needs... Many things Sona trying to convey in that mere act...

But that's not the point again... What she's doing is that what she wants for herself too?! Is this how she has to prove to be a fit into her new role and if not for Ishwari giving a tough time, would Sona have done it all by herself too?! And in the process is Sona unknowingly competing with Ish, showing Ishwari her state - knowing nothing else other than her cooking skills..

In all this Sona is only giving more reasons for Ishwari to be more insecure and diluting the real problems behind Ish... 😆
