Rustom Has 50 Crore Opening Weekend

Rustom is looking at a 50 crore nett weekend with Sunday business set to be around 19.75 crore nett. The Sunday could have probably gone higher but there are capacity problems with many multiplexes in big cities unable to go much higher as they were already doing 75-80% on Saturday. The spare capacity was in single screens and mass areas but there the film is not as strong as it is in city multiplexes. if the film was a solo release, the Sunday would have been the highest ever day for an Akshay Kumar release This should prove an advantage tomorrow as it repeat the occupancy of today at multiplexes. Mumbai has grown best on Sunday as despite competition as Mumbai circuit can handle two releases together with the least affect on collections compared to other circuits.

Mohenjo Daro does not have the capacity problems like Rustom as its business is much lower so managed to go as far as it could with around 12.25 crore nett for a weekend of 30.50 crore nett plus. The collections are low but the trend is decent as it has managed decent growth on Saturday and good growth on Sunday. The problem is with such a big budget you have to get an initial, 20 crore nett opening is probably too much to ask considering its a clash but it had to getting there or close to it on Sunday to recover its huge cost.
