My Scientific Analysis: It's Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS)

I m not regular daily soap fanatic, but this subject caught my attention.

As our own serials show any serious matter with lot of bloopers and make us more confuse, I decided to find some facts that would match our leading lady's case.

Now we know she is a kinnar - one can translate it as 'Transgender man'. I find Soumya's case is totally inconsistent with this one.

bcoz -
1. A Transgender man is born as a female but due to genetic mutation while being fetus inside womb, secretion of male hormone takes place inside her body. Therefore she is physically a girl but her emotions/ thoughts, self-identity is masculine.
So she is a girl from outside but she feels like a man from inside,.

By far, it never occurred to me that Soumya feels/acts or behaves like a man from any angle.

2. There is also another type where a child is born as female but she develops masculine organs as she grows, like she grows unusually strong muscles, mustache, chest hair etc.

Soumya is definitely not this type.

I read about AIS - Androgen Insensitive Syndrome in which a child is born and develops as a female. She is physically as well as psychologically a woman. But her inner organs are developed as like male. Instead of ovaries and uterus, she has testicles and other masculine reproductive parts.

They don't get monthly and cannot be naturally pregnant though IVF can make them carry baby.

They look like perfectly normal woman, ONLY GENETICALLY THEY R MEN.

I find Soumya's case matching with AIS.

*I don't want to bore u guys, so if interested in detailed biological description then only read next otherwise ignore.

All fetus develop in an exactly same way immaterial of sex for first 6 weeks. Everyone start out as females. After that, if there is a male fetus, then the male hormone secretion gland suppresses the female secretion gland. Otherwise the female glands keep secreting by default. That is why we all begin as female fetus.

In case of AIS, body fails to acknowledge the male hormone secreting for the male fetus. The body cannot detect any androgen throughout the body and therefore continues to develop the organs as if there is no male hormone or no XY Chromosome mating (XY chromosome implies male and XX implies female child)
which means all feminine organs get developed in absence of Androgen.
Therefore from outer side, it is a female body but genetically it is a male body due to XY. So inner organs are masculine like testicles, scotum, prostate.
In Soumya's case, I find AIS is the most appropriate reason.

Hello, first time posting in the forums. I have been a silent reader for many many years but finally felt like I want to say something.
The problem is, they have never really tried explaining the biological aspect of the problem here. which makes me think wonder if the ambiguity is intentional. Is this a story about acceptance or about finding a cure? I would hope its about acceptance. I am nobody to judge, it is a personal decision to accept or change yourself in such a situation to be honest and I do get it.
But Intersex condition comprises a very broad range when biologically speaking. It could be Mullerian Agenesis or Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and like you said it could also be pure AIS. I think it would be hard to detect complete AIS when she was born so it cannot be that. Also pure, AIS means she is not a female, she is genetically a man. That is a hard corner to write yourself in and I don't know if the makers are bold enough to go there. I just hope whatever is her condition as an intersex, they focus on the real issue here that is the extreme nature of scrutiny the society unleashes on them and we get a heartfelt journey of understanding and acceptance. 😊
