The new face of Balaji Telefilms, Dimple Jhangiani is playing the role of Kanya, a middle class girl in Sony's Kuchh Is Tara. We spoke to the young actress about her experience of working with Balaji and more.
How does it feel to be a Balaji girl?
"It's like a dream come true. During my college days I and my friends used to do imitate famous Balaji characters like Parvati, Tulsi and look now I'm a part of Balaji. Life is like a roller coaster. My friends are missing me a lot because in school and college, I used to be a big prankster."
How similar are Kanya and Dimple to each other?
"Quite different. Kanya Godbole is from a middle class family. She is the ladli of the house and wishes to do something in life. She likes to stay in her own dreams and marry a prince charming riding a horse. Dimple, on the other hand, is very practical and ambitious."
Kanya is waiting for her prince charming but what about Dimple?
"I been in a relationship for 3 years but sorry I can't disclose his name."
Tell us something about you shooting schedule?
"Everyday I shoot for 15 hours which is very hectic. I stay in Chembur and the studios of Balaji are in Goregoan, which is very far and travelling is damn tiring."
We heard that you doing your Bachelors in Mass Media (BMM)?
"Yes I am a final year BMM student from Vivekanand College in Chembur. I am aware that my work will affect my studies. I'll try and balance both but if it gets too hectic then my studies can take a back seat for a year. Balaji is a big name and to start a career with them is much more important. I have always dreamt of acting and now that it has been realized, there is no stopping me."
