Lavender Brown cast in Half-Blood Prince film

20 year old British actress Jessie Cave has been cast as Lavender Brown in the next Potter film. She beat off competition from thousands of other girls who were all desperate to spend much of the Half-Blood Prince snogging Rupert Grint. It's not known if Jessie attended the open auditions for Lavender that were held earlier this year.

Potter is top of UK movies

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was the biggest UK film of the year, grossing 49.2 million. Home-grown films accounted for more than a quarter of the UK box office this year, according to new figures.

Harry Potter boosts Time Warner profit
Time Warner Inc on Wednesday posted a higher quarterly profit, matching expectations, on more subscribers to its package of digital cable services and strong box office results for the latest Harry Potter film. Revenue at Time Warner's movie division rose 33 percent to $3.2 billion, led by box office sales of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Potter stars sign for run of Equus on Broadway

Rowling over its plan to print an unauthorized companion guide to her Harry Potter novels. Rowling and Warner Bros. argued that the lexicon borrows too heavily from the novels and amounts to copyright and trademark infringement.
