Gujarati family = rich?

I don't get why these serials have these Gujarati families and always show them as rich?

KSBKT = guju

TB = Guju

TKTG = Guju

GKLB = Guju

and all of them are rich well set families. What are your thoughts? I think it is a way to gain TRPs. I am a Gujarati and so many of my family members will watch soaps 7 - 10 pm everyday. Any ideas?

I'm not sure why, but you are right. From what I've seen, most serials have a rich family: Saath Phere (singh), Parivaar (shergill), maayka (soni's in-laws), naagin, jab love hua (this show ended its run this year). For most Indians, this provides a glimpse into the life of rich people:to see what rich people have, what they do, the mistakes they make, and how much they are like everybody else(and perhaps worse?)

Also, this is pretty much in line with the film industry too.

Zee certainly has a lot of well-off Gujarati families--could it have anything to do with the production company ownership, the origin of writers in Bombay, etc?

hmm graet thoughts dear sochna padega but tehy have bong serials too as i am a bong 😃 ardhangini they r zameendaars 😆 then kzk they r bongs n quite rich so u see language is not a criterea but rich or being poor is so usually either da heroine or da hero is always rich 😆 u forget ba bahu aur baby is also gujju serial haha

i think most serials they show family as rich

Gujratis are rich from their heart (personal experience)

Practically all tv shows are based with a rich family

hmmm its mostly gujus n singh-TB,GKLB,KSBKBT,BMTD,SP
it dont mean that all gujus are rich i think its just a serial does well that way wen its abt gujus n singhs!!!
thats true most gujus do watch almost all the 7-11 serials and the ones they cant watch in the evening they watch the repeats the following day!!

But gujju's are rich at heart. like someone said before. Gujrati's have a big, wealthy and healthy hearts and that shows through the money they have.
