Very nice post and I agree with what you said. The main concern for people isnt full fledged romance scenes we aren't getting yet, its just scenes in general that have been sort of sidelined with the preekar track in order for the track to play out. Im not complaining because it was important to progress the track and its leading to the better moments. But this is just what irked people I believe. Everything is good otherwise.
Also, I too believe confession might be the end BUT I dont want them to end the show right after that. I think we have anticipated and waited for too long so we do deserve a little bit of their post confession/ post relationship journey too. Just like they fought against all odds through their friendship I wanna see how they do that with their love/ relationship as well and how much stronger it makes them. If anything we deserve at least month or so of Shraman's post relationship scenes. I want to see how they go from being mild to intimate and how that brings them closer to each other. I know they cant stretch the romance for too long but show us enough so we can cherish forever. Of course when its the right time to show it that is. That's all I ask and I will be happy because EDKV is indeed a classic and has never rushed anything, so I dont want them to rush that either :)
i agree with you Ghanna completely but not with the original post. To clarify, people who are complaining are not complaining for the heck of it - the plot has been butchered badly with too much focus on ramini and preekar. even the characters are not true to themselves:
1) How many times have you seen lalaji and kamini have a convo? 0. How many times is she with ramnath - 90% of the time. like come on, does that happen in reality
2) Pushkar who knocked some sense into his brother after PCT fiasco has been turned into a spineless lover who can neither support his love or his sibling - wow what a progression there
3) sumo and shravan are supposed to be best friends (forget about them being in love for a sec). we have seen two decent convos between them
4) sumo is supposed to be a strong, independent woman. so her independence is only shown while running her business but what about helping her family make sensible decisions. Nope - no contribution there rather she turns into a mahan aatma telling her stupid sister she will make sure she will get her married to pushkar? how about talking to her and knocking some sense in her head. my idea of an independent woman is not just someone who can step out of the house and work but someone who can stand up for herself and help her family make smart choices instead of bowing down to them 24x7 - yes they took care of her when her parents passed away but that is more of a reason for her to do the right thing then just agree with them like a fool (again i am not from india so my opinion might be diff here as i dont think i understand the middle class upbringing from there)
5) ramnath's evil ploting is too much to digest. from being a father who wanted his son living with him he has been turned into a psychopath. i would have been ok with him telling sumo i dont like you so stay away from my son but this OTT plotting is too much to digest
6) oh and nirmala disappearing into thin air, what was that all about? it has been a month and no mention, a simple - i am leaving to sumo would have done the trick but nooo
the only character who is still somewhat real in a mess of we want to show realism but can not plot is shravan as his conflicts logically make sense. in terms of love story, it is too angsty - again that is far away from realism in my eyes. i have loved the show so far mainly because the leads are so convincing but you can not ignore these plot holes. Also, it seems like the CVs are hell bent on ruining the essence of the show - i hope i am proved wrong in the coming week though
personally, i dont watch a lot of indian shows but have seen airlines, rishta.com, mahi way - perfect plots with normal flawed characters and they were all finite series as well with a run of 25 epis. now why i brought those shows up - the CVs there stuck to the plot and brought a logicial conclusion to all the trials and tribulations with strong female leads/ characters. rishta is a amazing example of friends/ business partners falling for each other (mind you the show ended with their kiss but no one complained before as there was a logical progression. the two lead characters talked to each other for god's sake). so for people who make posts saying oh you guys just want them to be together and do not understand the plot - this is my response to you - we do and we are not looking for them to be together but we are tired of the stretching of confession - shravan has tried 3 times already (as if the world ends there) and lack of realism which was promised at the start
