Mika is a sleazeball.
The women he molests do not fit Indian culture's definition of the 'hapless victim'. They are not chaste virginal girls. They are aspiring models who do flaunt and use their body. So unfortunately the victims are not taken seriously or perceived to be at least partly at fault. It sucks, but unless it is some Sati savitri - Indian society tends engage in victim blaming. Mika gets off the hook because of that. But I would not go as far as to say they would be skewered if it was Hollywood. Look at Roman Polanski. What happened to Bill Cosby despite all proven allegations? Look at Kesha, she is the one without a career while Dr. Luke enjoys wealth and power. What about all the NBA and NHL stars who have gotten away with molestation and domestic violence? For Christ sakes one of the US Presidential candidates has multiple rape allegations against him - all shadily settled out of court with gag orders.
