We slaughter animals in the memory of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS)"s sacrifice

One day, Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam), had a dream in which He (Alaih Salam) was ordered by Allah Almighty to make sacrifice of His (Alaih Salam)'s son Hazrat Ismail (Alaih Salam) in the Way of Allah Almighty. Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam) when told about this commandment of Allah Almighty to His obedient son, He (Alaih Salam) guaranteed His father to be among the patient ones and asked him to not make any further delays in making this sacrifice. Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam), then as per Allah Almighty's command took Hazrat Ismail (Alaih Salam) to get slaughtered. Meanwhile, Satan the Outcast, tried to stop Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam) three times through evil whispering in the great Prophet (Alaih Salam)'s heart. But Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam)'s steadfastness made him utterly unsuccessful in his evil plans. The moment, Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam) was about to sacrifice His dearest son Hazrat Ismail (Alaih Salam), Allah Almighty sent from the heavens a ram(A type of sheep) to get slaughtered in place by accepting the great deed of both, the father and the son (Alaihim al Salam). Holy Quran, quite extensively, explains this entire incident which indeed carries a great lesson for every believing man and woman.
