Generally speaking sexism is the reason. I know a lot of people here will disagree with this, but I do believe this to be part of it. Sonam was severely mocked as well after her appearance on KWK. Last year after former Indian president Abdul Kalam passed away Anushka and Farhan misspelled his name on twitter, but only Anushka was mocked and attacked while Farhan was more or less left alone. Men make mistakes but women are stupid bimbos.

Specifically speaking here, Alia easily gets targeted and her smallest comments or gestures are blown out of proportion. On the other hand Varun is like freaking Teflon where things rarely stick to him, if ever. He says the stupidest things sometimes and after about 24 hours or so it's all forgotten and he's back to being the sweet fella that everyone supposed to love. Everyone should hire his PR.

I found Alia quite sensible.. Varun IDK in most of his interviews he is self pitying.. I think aam janta lacks common sense 😆 and reacted like pseudo-intellects

Well, I say Varun said it slowly but Alia said it at the top of her voice, considering herself to be right 😆
