It had been a year they broke up. It had been a year she had smiled with her heart. It had been a year she had lost her everything. And by everything she mean him. The person she loved may be still do but whats use now, The same person who claimed to love her had broken her beyond repair. He broke her heart into pieces when he confessed to his best friend, sharon that he was bearing her just because of her brother and many more other things. Not once he thought how it would effect her, hearing such cruel things about herself from him.
Even after break up she didn't got rid of pain, the whole college started gossiping about his closeness with his childhood best friend sanaya, who joined st. louis after few months of their break up. It broke her everyday slowly and painfully, hearing about them and seeing them laughing and hanging out together always. She felt hurt seeing how quickly he moved on as if she never exist in his life. She was breaking but not once she showed it to anyone. Everyday with fake bright smile she would walk in the rehearsal hall where she found them laughing and rehearsing dance
But today she is happy, happy that finally this torture is going to end. Its their graduation party after that she would leave this city and go back jodhpur. With the same thought she put up a smiley face and entered her college hall. Most of the students were already there. She was dressed in a beautiful designer gown, looking heavenly beautiful. She caught all the attention. With her waist lenght hair open she was looking like an angel in white.
She went to greet the VP sir, who had always supported her and had been a great support when whole college was against her during NDC. After talking to VP sir for a moment she turned around and was caught up in talking to some of college girl, who were praising her for her beauty. She smiled polietly at them while thanking them.
But soon her happy mood turned into sour when her gaze fall at the entrance where he stood with his sanaya. She avert her gaze as his eyes gaze fixed on her. All the emotions she had locked in seems to be out whenever he would look at her. Soon D3 dance team also entered and joined sanaya and rey who were standing in a corner.
Taani went toward the rehearsal hall, one last time to relive all those beautiful memories of her life she had in that one place. But as soon as she entered inside the rehearsal hall lights went off making her curse her fate.
"You are looking like an angel" A voice came from behind and she froze on her place realizing its his voice. Then a door closing sound followed causing her heart to picked up
"Rey? What are you doing here? And why lights are off?" She questioned him with great difficulty. It had been exactly a year they are talking to each other, till now they had ignored each other like one never exist in other's life.
"I want to talk to you" Rey replied as he switched on the flash light of his cell phone, knowing she is scared of dark. He looked at her without blinking, since he had entered in college party and laid his eyes on her he had forgot everything else that breath taking she was looking. Just then lights came back, which broke their trance. Taani averted her gaze from him, and cursed herself for getting lost in his, again.
"What do you want to talk about? Listen, I don't want to talk to you." Taani replied back rudely, breaking his heart.
"I want to talk about us-" Rey started off, it was the time to tell her about his fake break up plan and get her back, but little did he knew, it won't be that easy.
"There is no us." She hissed in anger. The fear of getting hurt again, made her bitter toward him. She didn't wanted to be rude to him, this was not her, but she couldn't help either.
"There is. There is, taani and there will always be us, till my heart is beating for you like your is beating for mine." Rey whispered softly, looking into her eyes, searching for the love he used to see, but all he could see was, pain. His heart clenched painfully. It wasn't something he wished to see ever.
"Oh! Really? So your heart is beating for an irritating girl like you? I thought you were bearing me just because i'm swayum's sister. What happened to that? And what about your girlfriend, sanaya? Got bored of her in just few months?" he taunted him, her every word pierced his heart. He couldn't believe she had taken his friendship with sanaya in wrong way.
"Sanaya is not my girlfriend. She is just a friend. And the break up was fake. I did everything for you. Everything i said to sharon that day, were all lies." Rey told her, not caring how desperate he sounded at the moment, he just wanted her to believe him.
"I don't care if that girl is your girlfriend or just a friend, nor i care about the reason behind break up because it won't lessen the pain i have gone through in past one year. Nothing gives you right to cause pain to someone deliberately." Taani replied back, tears of anger filled up her eyes. She turned around and stormed out the rehearsal hall, leaving a heart broken Rey behind.
