"Dev please, save our relation"
She begged him, unshed tears filled her eyes.She was tired of being strong and confident.Her all hops seems to be shattered.
"Its Mr. Dixit for you Ms. Bose.And relation. What relation???"
It felt like someone was stabbing him continuously, while saying those bitter words to Sona.His heart was breaking but he was tied in the ropes of relation.
"Dev, don't do this"
She was vulnerable for once in her life.Dev couldn't see her like this.He was so used to see her all confident and lively that it seemed impossible for him to even imagine sona broken and shattered.The thing that hurt him the most was He was causing her all this pain.
"Please Sona, Don't make it anymore difficult for me"
His voice stiff like steel, cold like ice.Not a hint of emotion lacing his voice.Over the time he has made himself an emotion less, cold person who was only good to his Mother.He cannot Choose Sona instead of his mother.
"I can't choose you over my mom"
"I am not saying ,choose me but don't leave me"
She knew once Dev made up his mind, he won't listen to her.
"I can't say no to , mom"
He was desperately trying to get out of this mess he had created.He shouldn't have given her high hopes.
"But you can try to win her heart"
He said in a soft soothing voice but it did nothing to Sona.She was already thinking ahead of everything.
"You can't say no to her and i can' say yes to everything she says"
She laughed bitterly.
"See the irony Mr. Dixit"
She spat .Her confident, rude aura coming back.
"She used to love me earlier and now She is so against us because i can be a perfect doctor but not a perfect wife"
Her strict and bold nature was the thing Dev's mom hated.She cannot imagine her as daughter in law.She wanted a perfect housewife material and Sona was far away from that.
" Sona"
He tried to reason her.She wasn' one of those girls to sit back and do nothing but she was aggressive, bold and intelligent.
"No dev, Don't Sona me"
She stepped back, away from him.
"You are a jerk, you shouldn't be with me if i can't have you"
She bitterly said.Now it was her turn.The tables have turned.
"You were right, lets end this once for all"
Dev was taken aback by her words.It was now he realized what those words can do to you.The pain was 100 times more , when you listen those words.It was his turn to beg her but one thing he knew was , this time their story would really end.As Sona never said about ending their relation , it was always dev , who would lost all his hope and try to end it but Sona never was to lose her hopes.
"What??"
"I can't be with a man who can leave me at any moment of life"
She stated the truth.Her believe in Dev was fading.
"I cannot be with you secretly, i cannot live with the fact that you can leave me whenever your mom get you married to somebody, i need security in my life,it is high time either We should be together forever or just break this up"
He just stood there motionless.Then moved forward and caged her between him and wall.Slowly moved his face toward her ears and whispered
" You can't leave me, you love me too much to do that"
Dev was confident that Sona cannot leave him.He had seen her love for him.
"I may love you , dev.But i have my self respect.I cannot be the type of wife your mother wants.I won't always compromise"
He kissed her forehead and said
"But you can't leave me"
It was now his ego speaking.He knew he can have any girl he wants but Sona always challenged him.His ego was always weighted more than anything else , even Sona.He was blinded by his ego and So was she.Her self respect has turned into proud.She won't let any one walk over her.
"Watch me"
She whispered in a confident tone and pushed Dev aside.Walking away from him.
"Goodbye dev, Maybe this is a new begging.We both are way too much intoxicated by each other.Maybe a break would do good"
She waved her hand at Dev from afar and said
"Our egos cannot let us live with each other"
It felt too unreal to believe it yet it was true.He just fell on her knees, unshed tears forming in his eyes.Weeping for his mistakes.
