The reason I am even talking about Cannes revealing top of last year is because she wore it and it got published, aired nationally to whoever wants to see, I don't understand yr argument...didn't she wear the waterfall black n blue saree for her press conference and it got discussed? Hv to agree to disagree...there are some stars who are still finding themselves, who are insecure from the root and Sonam is one of them.
Sonakshi, Vidya, Alia, Katrina are those who like themselves, approve of themselves, hence they never give out those 'trying too hard' vibes.
They already know what they like, dislike and stick with it. Not all the babbling of critics will get them to change.
In Sonams case, she already has admitted to having body image issues, (understandable, because she is competing with the likes of Deepika, Katrina etc)
She likes to giv her opinion but most of the time puts her foot in her mouth while doing so..
Sonam might like to project she grew up in a happy stable family, but people of that gen hv a different story to tell, her parents fought horribly, probably over Anil Kapoors womanizing ways, his too much into sex... according to old magazines
Bottom line, her insecurity stems from somewhere...from early life, fear of failure, having body image issues, whatever. Just hving money doesn't guarantee you stability.
Every heroine out there is an independent, accomplished woman, some more than others, who've done it on their very own, Pee Cee, Ash, They don't get validation of their self worth by putting their boobs on display..
Sonam acts like she doesn't want to do glam roles..only substance filled ones, but she did Players, and Thank You playing the glam doll..and her projecting this ultra glam hi fi fashionista bare dare persona is a large reason to be known as beautiful like Deepika and pee Cee and get offered glam roles like them. Maybe it's a case of wanting to be something one is not.

I didn't say Sonam SAID it was a faux pas on the part of Ash to put purple lipstick..
She said it was to garner attention (at any cost she meant) which I honestly don't think it was. Coz Ash hates criticism and she has never been a publicity junkie as such. The lipstick looked GORGEOUS on her in close ups and I am gonna stick with my opinion that they didn't prepare by looking how she looks in pap photos..no way would finicky Ash want to be made butt of Twitter jokes being called vampire and what not. Some of those photos were truly horrid...it was a fashion gamble went wrong.
But since they made Ash trend..for Sonam the motivation was solely to attract eyeballs any which way. I don't agree. But Sonam undresses for such occasions so she gave THAT motivation. Irony being ash trended in a lipstick and Sonam didn' t wearing almost nothing. Maybe the rub was in that.
