Kareena not Sonam lead in Rhea's next?

It is Kareena and not Sonam Kapoor, who will play the lead role in Rhea's next

Kareena Kapoor Khan won't play second fiddle to anybody, not even Sonam Kapoor. Even if it is the latter's sister Rhea's production, Veera Di Shaadi, directed by Khoobsurat director Shashank Ghosh.

Apart from Kareena and Sonam, the film also stars Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in supporting roles. The film is about a crazy trip between four best friends and all of them finding love at some point in their journey and is said to be an adaptation of the Hollywood flick, The Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants (see box).

Says a source, "Rhea's chick flick, Veera Di Shaadi, however, will revolve around a big fat Punjabi wedding. The essence of the film will be about four girls on a journey from Delhi to Europe and it will culminate in Veera's wedding. Kareena loved the script and the idea of acting in a chick flick for the first time, she made sure that hers had to be the meatiest role and that the story revolves around her character. Kareena is being very choosy about her roles now."

The source adds that after Ki & Ka, which turned out to be a surprise hit despite its unconventional story, Kareena can afford to dictate terms. "Also, she adds star value to the film, which otherwise only has Sonam. It just makes the project much bigger. Rhea had to bow down to her diktat and inform Sonam, who is a sensible girl. She agreed to play the second lead. Of course, everyone is hush-hush just now till they all start shooting in July."
