Soniya is not any name here, people call their lovers with so many names babu, sona, baby etc etc. soniya is also a name like those by which a lover indicates his girlfriend

with this question I got remembered another question which has come to my mind several times, In 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili' film, (very old film) who is the ram?? I used to think k as heroine's name is ganga so naturally hero's name is ram. but few months ago I watched the film and I found the name of the hero was raj(I guess) but not ram. then who is this ram? if u think in mythological way, then also ganga has connection with Lord Shiva, not ram. then whats the connection between ram and ganga here?
