How are you all? Some of you probably remember me. Many of you may not. For those who don't - I am the author of Dil Jaanta Hai.
I took a longish break from writing. Almost a year. I have just recently started writing again. And one of the projects I am super keen to start work on is - The Spark Tales. It will be a series of stories inspired by real life incidents, or very brief moments in time that I witnessed and it gave birth to an idea. I have the shell of a few ideas in my head, nothing is written down yet (fair warning). Which means - I can give you no hard dates as to when I will start publishing the stories here. However, I do intend to write them and post them, both in my blog and here. And I am making this public declaration to basically force myself to sit down and - write! đ
So, what are these stories going to be about? Well, like I said, each one is inspired by a real life incident. Either something I witnessed. Or something I read about or heard about. A slice of life, in a couple of cases, barely more than a few minutes in real time, that sparked an idea that brewed and brewed, till it became a story in itself. (And hence - "Spark" Tales).
The Spark Tales will be as follows:
Bus Stop: She is a crossing guard at a school every morning. He comes every morning to drop his daughter to school. Both are scarred by life. But - they are adults. Adept at dealing with life's disappointments, even tragedies. But what about the little girl?
Choices: Inspired by more than one incident that I was distraught to hear about. The story is a reminder that we ALWAYS have a choice. As long as there is life, there is a choice. And what we choose, helps guide our life. Never ever think you are helpless, without a choice. For if you look hard enough, you will find another way.
Star: Two super successful people, from two completely different walks of life. One lives in the hearts of millions. One makes those lives more livable. A brief, very brief, take on their own life.
As I said, I have started writing again. And over the next few weeks and months, I will post each one of the above Spark Tales here. No guarantees of when; but Kat's promise to you that you will get these stories.
