It is like family member interviewing another family member. That said, I thought she is fierce, blunt and speaks her mind. She wont have any problem facing some controversial questions.

EXACTLY THIS. As I said in another thread, I don't blame Kangana one bit for these interviews, well played! In fact every time I'm ready to give her a pass on her transgressions because I believe she is delusional she does something too cunning that makes me doubt my opinion.
My complaint is against the journalists - if they can be called that - with headlines essentially saying she's fabulous and answers every question without a filter, etc when that couldn't be further from the truth. She answered the questions they had agreed to in advance and she had clearly prepped for. Good for her. Shame on the journalists.

Yes, a journalist can do a promotional interview where blinding controversies are completely ignored but then they shouldn't be heralded as something else. They shouldn't try to fool viewers into believing they were free to ask anything and Kangana had not specifically declined certain questions. They promoted these interviews as if they were unbiased free press when they were clearly staged PR.

You're really naive if you think journalists can grill someone during an interview. If such a thing happened, no celebs would give any interview to such journalist.

Also, during the interview itself, if a journalist address an issue he knows the celeb won't approve of (or that they agreed not to talk about beforehand) then the celeb can either walk or give monosyllabic, boring answers or act as if he doesn't understand any of the questions asked and give off topic answers.

Sorry but I feel incredibly sorry for India if you've never seen a good journalist question a celebrity on a touchy topic. For that matter even when celebrities refuse to take questions on some topics, the journalist should have the integrity to acknowledge the interview is a promotional appearance (whatever the Indian equivalent of Entertainment Tonight is) rather than real journalism (whatever the Indian equivalent of 60 Minutes is) . These two "journalists" gave us the former but acted as if it were the latter.
