Which films do you prefer and why? Do you feel that the films from 50s - 90s were better, with the classics such as Mughal-e-azam, Pakeeza, Sholay, Kabhie Kabhie, Sangam, DDLJ, Maine pyar kiya, Taj Mahal etc

The dashing heros......Big B, Dharmendra, Sunil Dutt, Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor etc.........The elegant beautiful belles.....Sharmila tagore, madhubala, rekha, waheeda, mumtaz, saira banu, meena kumari etc

Or

Do you prefer films from the 21st century?

Does anyone else still watch the classics?

Actually pre 21st century it was all on a movie, if it was good people would watch it,no media, no hype, no (or insignificant amount of) publicity...
21st century is all about looks glam, media, publicity
You have to be really hot/ cute with a body to make it now
Gone are the days when people like ajay devgan, SRK, amitabh could make it , if they came out now.
If someone that was dark skin/ skinny (amitji in olden days) came to the indian scene now, i.e. tushaar (no offense to all his fans, but even if he acts good hes NEVER gonna make it lol, srry to burst your bubbles) no ones gonna go watch his movie SRK'Z lucky he made just before the what i call the "post-hrithik era"

my opinion =)

p.s. if you think ranbir made it cuz hes just another starkid look at tushaar his dad was equal or maybe even more than rishi kapoor
in OSO when he came on with his dad on the screen everyone in the theatre looked at each other confused like eww seriously? srry no bashing lol

Fact is Fact.

Well there were some good old movies. The only black and white movie that I've seen and I thought was really good was Dosti, not sure if people have heard about it.It was a very touching movie.

I have seen a lot of Amitabh's movies and found them pretty entertaining, even some of Rishi Kapoor's movies are really nice.

I think it's wrong to compare the past and present as so much has changed.

Times change, interpretation of cinema/ stories change...
a true classic like Sholay stands the test of time...it is loved by 7- 8 years old even today.. we will have to see whether in the next 20 years people will like what are claimed as classics today! 😛
