Erica's mannerism

Has anyone else noticed that when she's delivering her dialogues...maybe just when she's trying to be extra serious ( most scenes with Dev) she moves her lips super minimally like they barely move as she talks...kind of takes away from the emotion of the actor and just makes her look angry and tense for no reason. Really hopes she stops doing that.

It bothers me as well, but I understand where 'soapbubble' is coming from! Its like, 'her thing with Dev only.' But, the thing with that is, her acting doesn't come as natural when she tries to do that. And really hope they quit making her speak random bengali terms! I am a bengali myself.. and half the time, even I don't understand what he is trying to say! If they wanted to portray her as bong, why didn't they pick a proper bong actress?! Like Pratuysha Banerjee?! It would have come out more naturally, and she's an awesome actress too! Would have suited the role! Or some other bong girls... gosh. Sona's whole family is bong, all her those who are playing her parents and brother.. why didn't they pick a bong actress for her part, if throwing those words were soo necessary?!

I think she tries to say 'obhodro' which means, 'disrespectful guy' but it comes out as a jumble. She's too serious in most of her scenes, she needs to really get in the family of the show, and be a little more relaxed. She seems to be trying too hard to fit her part in the role only, than trying to build bridges with the rest of the cast, as a family. hmm..

Just my two cents.. and observations. I'd like to see, natural acting.. from main actresses.. and not forced.

Shaheer seems to be trying hard to blend in with her.. but, she gotta do her part well.. to match with his! Then only the chemistry would come out more naturally... in my opinion :)

Hi All, just a few days ago I wrote that I like Sona's character and I like Erica as Sona. But as the show is progressing, I am finding a lot of flaws in her acting and dialogue delivery.

Sona's mom is Bengali herself, so her Bengali would be perfect! Hehe :D

same here, i actually found her acting a bit strained and her dialogue delivery very hurried up.. like, she is trying to finish off her dialogues and get done with it.. and i agree with most of you, she needs to take it easy and in a calm manner, articulating each sound and word nicely

Yes, when she is speaking between her teeth in front of Dev, it is very difficult to understand her. I am not at all enjoying her conversations with Dev. She speaks in hushed voice, under her teeth and without clarity. This is a TV show, one cannot be so casual about dialogue delivery.

Plus her pronunciation needs improvement big time. She needs to:

(1) speak a bit slowly

(2) and clearly

(3) and improve her Bengali diction

That 'Mr. Obdro' is unacceptable. It is 'Mr. Abhadra' and in Bengali 'A' is pronounced as a long drawn 'O'. Her dad's Bengali is also pretty bad. Only Mom speaks good Bengali and Saurav is OK.

CVs need to fix the flaws in Erica first and foremost and then pay attention to the other actors. If the female lead does not click with the viewers, show will not last.

Shaheer is doing a great job and I want the show to be successful. Erica and Shaheer look cute together, so if CVs correct her mistakes, she will be fine. As a newcomer I want her to be successful and wish her well.

I agree with your post 100% I kind of tweeted her the gist of this ( In the nicest way possible) but kind of wanted to link her to this topic but I guess that would be too absurd haha. I really want this show to work because I'm loving Shaheer...but our rank is so much behind the other new show that debut on the same channel and its kind of concerning.

What are you talking about ??? Their ratings is 1.3 and KRPKAV has got 1.2 ratings . So our ranking is same . No need to be so concerned surely because its actually very good ratings for a Sony TV show. :)

I think she needs work on her dailogue delivery otherwise she was good
