Anupam Kher accuses opposition of "marketing" the tolerance-intolerance debate!

Pro-BJP actor Anupam Kher on Saturday accused the opposition of "marketing" the tolerance-intolerance debate as they lacked issues and were unable to stomach their defeat in the Lok Sabha polls two years back.

Pro-BJP actor Anupam Kher on Saturday accused the opposition of "marketing" the tolerance-intolerance debate as they lacked issues and were unable to stomach their defeat in the Lok Sabha polls two years back.

"The tolerance-intolerance debate does not have any relevance for the man on the street, who is engrossed with getting the basic necessities of life. Tolerance is being marketed now. The opposition is taking revenge for the way they were debated," Kher said at a debate here. "Also the opposition lacks any issue. They haven't been able to raise any corruption related issue in the past 22 months, while during the preceding ten years (of Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime from 2004-2014) there was only talk about graft," he said, speaking on the motion "In the opinion of the house, tolerance is the new intolerance".

Without naming Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Kher mocked the party for "tolerating" a person who they wanted to project as the prime ministerial candidate. "I think the most tolerant people in the country are in the Congress. They are tolerating a person who they want to projct as the prime minister of the country. If you can tolerate this person, you can tolerate everything in the world." Kher also spoke with respect to the growing problems in JNU with respect to the release of Kanhaiya Kumar. When the video of his speech hit the internet, Twitterati soon started commenting and the views were severely polarised. While some lauded Kher for his thoughts and views, others called him a grumpy old man..

Seriously few parts of his speech are bang on...never heard of the word intolerant 8 months back...god knows why all of a sudden intolerance is becoming such a huge issue...

Haha, Aamir really struggled to answer that question in Aap ki Adalat... what happened in last 6-8 months so drastic that intolerance became a issue? To which he keeps on saying, kisi bhi din ka newspaper utha lo ya tv news dekh lo... abey Ghonchu, did u just started reading and watching news in last 8 months? Were U sleeping in your 50 Years old life?

Bang On Anupam! Ppl had enough of tolerating Congie for so longgg, they voted for BJP and if thats what intolerance mean, then so be it! 😆
