Baahubali 2 was never coming on Christmas. 1) It wouldn't be ready 2) Even if ready they wouldn't have released it as movie run would be effected in three weeks for Sankranthi/Pongal in South

True. I don't think there was an iota of truth behind those reports.

Aamir probably just drew a parallel between some of the themes of the movie and those of independence day and a few media outlets took it literally. Hence the stories.

They still have some of the shoot left which wont begin for 3-4 months and then the movie has to go through post production stage afterwards.

I will be genuinely shocked if they prepone it to August. That will mean scrapping of the last schedule (which looks to be very important to the story) and giving up a solo date to share screens with 2 other movies.
