why don't we learn something from Oscars?

was seeing the categories

only 2 for actors/actresses

best lead actor/actress

best supporting actor/actress

only 5 nominations in each

i know they may not always be just but oscars still have that integrity

and why not?

W*F is wrong with our awards? when suitable add 7 nominations..

best actor/actress for multiple category

popular..critics..

if that is not ridiculous enough include more like best actor thriller..best actor comic..best actor drama..best actor blah.blah blah

then awards are given only to those who attend and the deserving ones not attending are given the critics one..major W*F

why can't we try to make it similar to oscars in terms of categories and nominations at least and stop pleasing every one now that so many people have stood against them..it would be so much more fun to see our fav winning than being given charity

We have to impress everyone so there lies to problem of this many categories. This year we might see even more categories being added to satisfy every top star .
However i dont quite agree that only deserving people have won oscars, two years back Matt Mccnoughey won for a below average performance when everyone nominated was better than him.

If Oscars operated like the Bollywood Award ceremonies, DiCaprio would probably have the most number of awards. That's just something to think about...not sure if relevant. 😆

Pleasing everyone is one thing.

An Indian show looks incomplete without performances. Stars charge hefty prices for performing. Awards in a means to get a star at a discounted rate. (Akshay mentioned it recently in a talk show).

Question is, if there an award ceremony without performance, will stars attend without charging? Will the TRPs for the award ceremony remain same? (Compare it to National awards ceremony). If answers to both are negative, then (private) Indian award functions will be the way it is.

Because the organizers THINK we audience like to see drama, dance performances and gags!

Because the award organizers want to PLEASE the big wigs and invent categories for them or pay them to dance

Because they don't understand awards are NOT TV shows

but the most prestigious one filmfare should stop all this crap..be fairer and go live with less nautanki

I don't want Bollywood awards to copy the Oscars. I do not agree with people who say there should be no performances and everything should be formal. Just no.

This is India. It's all about song and dance and melodrama and colour.

However, the Oscars can be seen as the National Awards, they don't have "popular" actor/actress category.

And the other awards like Stardust/SCreen can be seen as the MTV Movie Awards or Peoples Choice/Teen Choice Awards.

They should cut down on performances, and yes cut down on these fake award ceremonies. Too many awards given out. Be credible and give it to the ones that actually deserve it.

Too much on this obsession of having to win it. Just be grateful you are nominated. You can't win everything.
