The best friends

It went on I started sitting with Ragini and Swara in front bench used to sit with boys in second bench she was always there to help others but when she asked for copies or notes everybody never helped her. After sometime I saw Ragini's copy it was beautiful and looked so clean. Her grip on English was so good and another one was Swara whose English was good.

Ragini and Swara started becoming very good friends as they attended most of the classes together due to their same subject.

So,I understood one thing after a few days Swara is everyone's friend but none is her friend and Ragini is noone's friend but everyone is her friend.

I , Ragini & Parvinder got 102 room beside Reshmi's room . Reshmi is a girl who is quite spoilt and her sister Aparna is the best student of the college everybody always praised Aparna and cursed Reshmi. It is said she is on drugs alcohol and she is quite hot headed even tried to kill Aparna and so on( you will be thinking why did I described her but u will all know ).

As you know Swara and Ragini were becoming best friends. There was something brewing between them our class topper used to sit with Swara and chit chat half of the class 90% of the time they were thrown out Lakshya was probably a genius Swara probably a fool after the first semester I understood Ragini was second though Swara was third and lakshya the ten CGPA boy literally used Ragini's notes, copies practical files and Swara would not do half of it. This went on and first year passed then entered the worst girl of my college "Dipshika" and the most genius of college. She was the junior but was my room mate. Parvinder was one liner girl she would talk only one lines she was very strong and her answers were enough.

The Rumours

Ragini changed her room and moved to Swara's room. Then as second year started I heard that Lakshya is going to propose and it was told by Prasun on Electrical machines class and that day I saw Ragini was teary eyed and then as if she faked a smile and said its nice to know that. After somedays, I heard Dipshika say to me "Do you now Swara takes alcohol and she is play girl". Parvinder glared at me and said that now you are also gossiping and she never expected this from me. I was stunned and told her that this is the first time I heard it. Then Parvinder said Amanpreet(Parvinder's fiance) also said that and said her to stay from Swara. It went on and on the rumour seemed to be so true and the way she talked with almost all boys and went to parties . She was digging her own grave.

Ragini on the other hand helped Swara with notes and was an angel all together. She was really an innocent girl. She helped me with Digital Electronics and she accompanied Swara with Lakshya all the time.

Lakshya was always very fond of Ragini or her notes. Then oneday I was called by Mr. Roy(HOD ) he is a middle aged man but he is known to be quite shrewd and a miser in giving marks. If Ragini and Swara an Ragini miss any of the lectures from tomorrow I will surely take action against them. I fumbled and said that Lakshya is also not attending classes. Mr.Roy said look at the marks I saw in the third semester Ragini and Swar a got only 56% and Lakshya got around 73% topping the class and said that if Swara's reputation goes down it will effect her marks more.

I called Swara and Ragini to the room when they came I saw Swara wearing hotpants and it made me very angry I said to Ragini always make friends who helps you to go to heaven not hell. Swara said why are u shouting at us. I said "I don't want to talk to you .I am talking to my best friend not you and if there is smoke there must be some fire." Swara left teary eyed.Ragini also left but her face didn't show any anxiety and as if she smirked. This was the first time I felt something horribly bad.

Parvinder and Dipshika entered the room . I told Parvinder and Dipshika all the things Parvinder said to me this is not the way to talk to your friends tubelight . Dipshika told me when there is a fire there must be an igniter.

The fire

This rumours went on and on and almost looked like truth. Swara was avoided by almost everyone including me who wanted to be in the bad books of the teachers. Teachers clearly insulted her and Ragini started sitting beside me in some classes and in departmental classes with Lakshya. She helped Swara sometimes and even fought for her. Swara attended all the classes but it felt like she was changing and Lakshya's behaviour too.

One day I remembered I entered the hostel giving the fourth semester exams I saw the girls were throwing her bags outside it was a kind of ragging. I saw Reshmi glaring at them .She shouted " Would u leave her or else I will have to call Mr. Roy". The girls left. I could see Swara sitting in the balcony and crying.

Then after sometime Dipshika entered the hostel "I asked her What happened".

She said "Don't you know tubelight yesterday Swara was drinking and it was released in fa book . YES she even made a video of girls making cheat papers ."

Dipshika "Even you being a tubelight will you do this thing."

I knew what she meant. I saw Swara standing on the balcony Dipshika went to her and said "If you don't mind u could share the room with us."

She looked at Parvinder said "We will join beds."

When she looked at me with hope I said "Okay , fine."

Dipsi blinked at me and said "Need to find the fire before it burns everything". Parvinder sighed.

The special paper

(This part is inspired from Ghosts in college. Actually we thought it was some kind of ghost who is doing all this even someone was possessed and there were many stories regarding it but after sometime we found out who was the ghost. )

Swara slept with us cried the whole night I was going to ask but Parvinder just nodded her head. Dipsi when entered the college few nights she also used to cry but Parvinder always said not to talk about it. So, I didn't asked her. Now there was two days off before the special paper (This special paper exam is taken by best students and if anybody passed it they will get to choose their own guide and own paper. ) I was not giving the exam because I wanted that subject but I don't want to be under Mr. Roy(the marks miser). I was preparing suddenly and was about to leave for the exam my best friend came to me and said "I am making coffee. Will u want some Swara." Actually I and Parvinder never had coffee as I vomit and Parvinder showed just solidarity. Dipsi didn't liked Ragini at all so she always avoided Ragini. I was very happy that Ragini came to us and offered us something. I said "I also want coffee."She said "It is better you don't take it dear." Swara looked at us as if she felt lonely so I insisted give me some. After drinking some coffee I was feeling dizzy and unwell. Dipsi asked "I am going I need to study and ask friends how to cheat .Tubelight don't be late. Swara Madam this is your test . "

Parvinder said " I am also going ."

After sometime I vomited the whole coffee and I took Calpol for headache. Suddenly I collapsed.

I remembered Parvinder asking me "Get Ready. Amanpreet is standing with bike. What happened?."

I said "Ghost is casting a spell because I didn't believe na."

Dipsi said dear "I have found out the Ghost who is disturbing us and that day who tore all practical copies. It is the one who spiked your coffee."

I looked at Swara and said tell Amanpreet to take her to the exam hall.

The Encounter and the College magazine

Dipsi always used to she is the most intelligent. She knows how to tackle people . But according to Parvinder she is fool though I never told her. According to Parvinder if Dipsi was smart she would have moved on with her ex and wont cry at night. But today I understood why she always boasted .

Parvinder called and said she didn't liked the look which Ragini is giving in the exam hall and Dipsi understood it she said Parvinder to leave she will come after writing the pass marks . Parvinder came to us without writing anything and called Amanpreet who also left exam. Just to take me to the exam hall. As usual we both got supplementary. But Parvinder passed. I was very angry at my best friend .

I went to her "I called her and asked her. Why did you do this. "

She said "I never wanted to do this with you you are my best friend and ofcourse with swara but you all forced me."

I asked "why you put sedatives in coffee i could do police complaint "

She replied with tears in her eyes " I love Lakshya. I just want him to lead a happy life. She could get anyone .I helped Lakshya with notes. I wrote his copies. She never sacrificed she took us to parties.Why will I leave him. My parents let me attend this university I worked so hard to come here now I will give him who could give me everything. I don't want to be like Dipsi who never fought for his boyfriend.Everything is fair in love and war Leave it."

I said "You are sick."

She replied" But I really like you . You are my best friend. I will never do this again with you and even Swara if she didnt interfere in my life. i love u girls I am not bad just understand my point of view."

This words literally made me sick I didn't know what was she telling me and should i be sympathetic to her or call for psychiatrist and What's with Dipsi.?

Then I wrote all of this in my college magazine changing the names ofcourse.

YES I am a tubelight

Swara become our room mate . Parvinder did talk on mobile all night in the balcony. Dipsi and I become closest friends. Mr Roy Started taking our classes and I couldn't control anything in that Optimal Control Subject. As the magazine got published I saw a writing it was a writing written by my old friend in a very good English. She talked about culture, ethics and so on. My letter was published and it just brought curse with it. My headache and vomiting was a regular symptom. So,I started staying at my home and missed classes.

Girls went to my best friend's side blaming Swara for the letter . But it was me of course.

I went to my house . Suddenly oneday Mr. Roy called " You are going to college hostel immediately. Or else this time u r going to fail"

I was about to say but Sir said don't give me excuses I will sent a Doctor but reach immediately. He also said "Do you know which is the best loop system." and he disconnected.

When I entered the hostel I heard Dipsi and Swara shouting and crying. I got there saw Aparna and Ragini . I said "What is this".

Ragini said "Please stay out of this. I don't want anything to happen to you "

Reshmi answered " I knew your papers was stolen so I did it. They were not involved".

Aparna said "We are twins . I know everything."

Dipsi was sitting on the floor looking at the mobile and I felt as if her heart belonged there.

Swara looked like she is broken . Then I saw what was it . Today she begged Lakshya to take her back of course he rejected and the way she was rejected was seen and ofcourse it was very nicely shot. Even if it was not shot the way of rejection was disgusting. Now also there was another question what was the paper connection here.

As a tubelight I asked "What is the paper connection here."

Ragini said "I told you na Aparna she will never do this kind of thing. "

I again asked. Ragini said Dipsi stole a thesis paper . At that time Parvinder entered and said she didn't stole it it was you who cheated Baran and Dipsi also did the same thing. Just nd dont shout at her as if Parvinder's one line and presence was always enough forthem to leave but till they didnt want to leave due to ego

Suddenly I remembered why Sir asked the closed loop system and disturbance. I said there is lot of disturbance oh then it strike me. I said "Aparna. Sir, called me and is going to disturb you as the lady doctor is going to come and Do u really think helping Ragini will lead you to the medal."

She looked at Swara and left with her gang.

I took Dipsi mobile and this time I understood everything.

At night I saw Swara leaving the room and she tried to jump of from the balcony. But it was Reshmi who saved her . She brought her in and told her life story Reshmi and Aparna are sisters .Reshmi is a good girl but Aparna is cunning girl. We have nothing to doubt her after seeing her fabulous attitude today

Last meeting

This went on Swara forgave everyone and everything even the crows who used to disturb us but her suicidal tendencies were getting on our heads. Dips and I were babysitting her. Reshmi has passed out and Aparna got the best student award. Last year of our college our grades has reached anew limit and are competing with each other in getting lowest marks.

Mr. Roy called me and asked me "Are you planning to adopt her."

I said"she is quite suicidal and broken too."

Sir said "Leave her I have said other teacher to pass her. So, that she could sit in campus placement. Listen to me let her go and be a little rude. I talked to Dipsi about it too. "

I talked to Dipsi and Parvinder about it actually Par always said me this only but I and Dipsi were always babysitting her.

Swara came to our room Dipsi said enough is enough today Mr.roy called us and said u should leave us.

Swara left without a single word and we avoided her even in the last days.

After some days Ragini gave us the invitation card . Dipsi called Swara she was happy to hear our voice we took her to the marriage hall and she stand there and when she came back she cried and cried and in the morning she left the room.

The college exams were over. She got a job .

That day she came to us with her appointment letter and we were quite happy to see her after a long time and that was the last meeting and end of our college.
