Pettigrew: Suicide or Murder?

Hey everyone!! 😃

What i wanted to ask was what really happened to Wormtail?? All my friends said that he committed suicide because he had to pay off his debt to Harry, but im sure he was murdered by Voldemort.

What i think happened was that when Voldemort gave Peter the silver had he said something like "may your loyalty never waiver" or something and he put a curse on it so that when Pettigrew betrayed or left him the curse would kick in and kill him, one of Voldemorts brilliant plans. So when Peter hesitated the night when they had captured Harry the curse realised what Wormtail had done and killed him.

So does anyone really know how he was killed??

gud theory.....i thnk voldy killd him n u remember DD had foreseen it...he knew dat petigrew wil cum bak 2 sense n at d mo he betrays voldy n realises he SHUD hlp harry wil b killd by dat hand....gud theory n gud plan...i mst say voldy knew not to overlook little htngs....except love of course

missy ur theory is right...Its Voldemort who killed him..Voldy gave the silver arm to him to do his bidding...the one moment of hesitation when he nearly failed what Voldy intends...obviously he played a terrible price...remember there is a line in the book in Malfoy Manor its said "Pettigrew was paying the prince of that one moment of hesitation" or something like that...

i odnt thnk so cuz u remember he tried 2 pull off dat hand but it was stickin tight wid his neck.....

I always felt it was murder by Voldey poo's silver hand. No doubt about any suicide or whatever...it was cold blooded murder...but one can say...by showing that one moment of regret and mercy...Pettigrew signed his own death wish..so...

But who cares? Good riddance I say!

u r right da silver enchanted hand gifted by Voldey killed Peter,,,,,,,,

The scene went like this:

"You're going to kill me?" Harry choked, attempting to pries off the metal finger. "After I saved your life? You owe me, Wormtail!"
The silver fingers slackened. Harry had not expected it: He wrenched himself free, astonished, keeping his hand over Wormtail's mouth. He saw the rat like man's small watery eyes widen with fear and surprise: he seemed just as shocked as Harry at what his hand had done, at the tiny, merciful impulse it had betrayed, and he continued to struggle more powerfully, as though to undo that moment of weakness."

IMO it was a little of both. He committed indirect suicide by showing that one moment of remorse and it was murder as he didn't want this to happen.
