Urmila and Manisha underrated?

Don't you think in hindsight that Urmila and Manisha were criminally underrated in the 90's? I mean, I think both gave great, solid performances in almost all movies - Manisha in Khamoshi, Dil Se,Gupt, lajja especially and Urmila in Rangeela, Dillagi, Kaun, Bhoot, Ek Hasina Thi. But somehow, Kajol and Karisma were the "queens" among the 70's born actresses.

I always found Kajol and Karisma overrated. Yes,. they had a lot of hits and they could emote pretty well, but I think both have this tendency to go overboard. However, Mansiha and Urmila were subtle, restrained performers. i even found them similiar-looking back then!

I know K & K have a lot of fans on this forum, and this topic might backfire! but do discuss.

Why take away Karishma's and Kajol's achievement? They succeeded because they were part of successful movies. It has always been like this.

Watch Kajol in DDLJ and you'll see she isn't over-acting in fact most often than not she's termed as natural.

As for Karishma, in the movies I've seen of her she often played a spoiled brat so the overacting was kinda needed.

Manisha and Urmila starred in movies which are still watchable and cult movies too so they'll still be remembered. I really likes Pinjar and Dil Se 😊

Well I feel Urmila is highly underrated actress who has done great roles in her times. She was beautiful, talented, have great figure and features and above all a powerhouse performer. However, Manisha destroyed her career herself by having so many link-ups and due to her alcoholic/drug habit. This had done no good to her career and she destroyed her face and figure in her early age. I feel Manisha was truly beautiful and a decent performer when she entered the industry.

Manisha and urmila also used to go overboard
was watching Mann the other day, I love that movie but manisha is so cringeworthy at times in the movie
Urmilas voice was really off putting
All four actors have their bad and good movies
Kajol and Karishma were just more lucky I mean kajol left Dil se manisha got it still Kkhh was a blockbuster and Dil se average

To be honest, I havent seen Manisha's films so I am not too sure about her.

But Urmila is RIDICUOUSLY UNDERRATED! I cant believe that she just fizzled out after 2005. She did amazing work! And she had it all...She can be sexy and then can do something like Pinjir.

Her body of work is defiantely strong than Karishma's and Kajols...I mean just look at her the diversity of her work... Rangeela, Judai, Satya,Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Deewangee, Bhoot, Tehzeeb, Pinjir, Ek Hasina Thi, Naina, Banaras -- such diverse and strong roles!

Its really sad that we talk more about Karishma/Kajol...whereas Urmila has done so much more work in terms of versatlity.

There is so much more Urmila can do, shes not even that old and yet she continues to be unused!
