Katrina Kaif talks about dancing, rumours she would love to start about herself and the Bollywood star who intimidated her.
You have six sisters and a brother. What was growing up in a house full on people like?
The most wonderful thing about having so many sisters was that I always had my own girl gang. I never had to go out to make friends. Also, since our family was constantly shifting from one city to another, having a portable friend circle' made life much easier.
Have you done any odd jobs while growing up?
Not really. I came to India and got into modelling when I was just 17. So, the age when people usually look for odd jobs, I had already found a career.
Which is the first Bollywood film you saw?
I first came across Hindi films when I moved to Mumbai. The first one I remember was the Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor-starrerAsoka(2001).
One thing about Bollywood that surprised you when you started working.
I had no idea it requires this much hard work! On the first day of my shoot forHumko Deewana Kar Gaye(2006), Akshay and I were on the set for more than 10 hours. I remember calling my designer and friend Rocky S and asking him if such crazy working hours are normal. He revealed that we even have 12-hour shifts!
You seem to be a hard-working actor.
Yes, I am not here to have fun or to fool around. I need my job. I do not have a back-up plan.
Tell us about dancing for the Pashmina song in Fitoor.
We wrapped up the song in just three days. Many people consider dance as a trivial part of a movie, but according to me, it is a serious art form.
Are you a trained dancer?
The funny part is, the only style of dance I am trained in is Kathak, and so far, I haven't got any opportunity to perform it.
What is the most difficult challenge you have faced in Bollywood?
Learning to speak coherent Hindi and getting the diction correct.
If you were a Disney princess, who would you pick as your best friend?
This is a very important question. Bambi, Winnie the Pooh's Tigger and of course Shrek's Donkey.
Were you ever star-struck?
I used to be quite intimidated by Akshay Kumar
One rumour you would love to start about yourself.
That I know twenty languages... okay that is too much. Let's make it six, including Hindi. How I wish the rumour was true!
One thing not many people know about you.
That I love to sleep. I am a sleepaholic! I can sleep for thirteen hours at a stretch.

Sense of humour, honesty and confidence.
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
Apart from being trustworthy, which is important, I think that every guy and girl in a relationship should make it a point that they try and make every day special.
How do you imagine your 60th birthday to be?
Happy and surrounded by friends and hopefully, some beautiful children... also grandchildren maybe. Gosh! That's ambitious, I'd better hurry up!
