Alia might inherit whatever money I'm left with: Karan Johar

Fifteen years back, he made the line, "It's all about loving your parents," famous through his film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2011). Now, film-maker Karan Johar feels that his next production, Kapoor & Sons, is "special", as it marks a "huge shift from loving your parents' to understanding your children'."
At the trailer launch of the Shakun Batra directorial, Karan, who has again teamed up with Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt for this film (after Student Of The Year; 2012), said that the "versatile" Sidharth has "gone from strength-to-strength" in his career till now. About Alia, who Karan shares a close bond with, he added, "She might end up inheriting some of my properties and whatever money I'm left with." Interestingly, Karan revealed that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who also stars in the film, is his mother's (Hiroo Johar) favourite. He said in jest, "He is the only actor my mother blushes on seeing." The film-maker even made some light-hearted remarks about Shakun: "Regardless of what his height is, he has made a very tall film. It has a different perspective on family."
On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor, who is playing a grandfather in the film, left even before the event had started, since his mother, Krishna Kapoor, was unwell and had to be hospitalised. Yet, Karan didn't leave the chance to praise him. He said that even though during the shoot Rishi's make-up would take three-four hours every day, he never complained. "It is tough for an artiste to sit on the chair for that long and then perform with all of it on your face," he added.
