- I liked that selector person. He seemed to genuinely understand the situation girls face when it comes to choosing sports as a career. I liked it how he encouraged the father to ask for the groom's opinion once before assuming.

- The groom when asked for his opinion simply tells to ask his parents. Makes me wonder whether he is going to be the one to marry Dharaa or his parents! He simply didn't show any concern or interest.

- The father's narration about how he had to give up his cricket dreams for his mother's sake was sad. But I liked the point Dharaa brought out - in her father's case he gave up his dreams for his mother who went through difficulties to raise him but in Dharaa's case, she is expected to give up her dreams for a random stranger. And that really is unfair.

- But the father too had a point about how this won't be a stable career and will have a short shelf-life. So Dharaa needs to take the long-term into consideration as well. This point is true not only for girls but also guys. But in my view, if someone is passionate about something, has the aptitude for it plus opportunity too has presented itself, then they should give it a try. If they succeeded, then they get to live their dreams and if not, they atleast will get the satisfaction of trying.

So these were my views. Would love to hear about yours!!

Good stuff, Stephy!
Looks like Dhara is going to have a lot of hurdles in her aspiration to become a cricketer.
Here I was hoping the guy will have no issues with Dhara's wish to further her cricketing career. But he looks like a spineless character.
Cheers to the selector and Dhara's family.
Go Dhara Go!!
I am keen to how Dhara follows her passion and manages her new family at the same time.

Totally agree with both you guys. However, unfortunately I believe such is the situation with many girls in our culture - they are expected to give up their dreams and aspirations for random strangers - yet do everything to accommodate the random stranger and his family's dreams and aspirations.

I honestly love watching this show - everyone acts so well. Discussions and situations are realistic. AND the girl believes in herself and has guts.

Thanks!

Ah yes... the guy is surely spineless. He doesn't seem to have a mind of his own. He just says to ask his parents and he doesn't bother with what was said or done. I hope Dharaa doesn't end up getting married to him.

Yes, it's true for a lot of girls... esp if they choose careers that aren't the norm. So it's nice to watch a based on this theme!

5th & 6th Feb:
Dharaa's childhood and how she developed her interest for cricket was interesting.

It was sad how she was restricted from playing cricket and is given training to become a bahu instead. She is a child and instead of letting her enjoying her childhood, she gets taught the chores to do in her future sasural.

And poor Dharaa kept doing all that just so she gets to play cricket. It's sad that she has to make perfect round rotis to get her wish fulfilled. After all, at this point, Dharaa isn't considering a career in cricket but just a few hours of playing a game that she likes; something that the other boys in the neighbourhood get to do without any restriction.

The dialogue where Dharaa says that she follows all of grandma's words but grandma doesn't listen to her one thing... was heartbreaking.

Nice reviews!!😊

@bold: I got teary-eyed during that scene.. it was so thoughtfully done. First, the chillies, the needle & thread, the bharani.. then the round roti.. anybody's heart would melt at the child's efforts!

Thanks.. 😊

It was indeed sad that the young Dharaa passionately went about the chores so that she gets to play the game she likes...
