Beautiful Sumedha. Yes I had put my thoughts in another thread on this. Yes not only Ram protected Sita from gossip mongers, but took a big blame on himself. Exactly the way he wanted. Sita's purity stood vindicated over the years and the world went on questioning Ram did he protect her. Did he stood up to the vow he gave to her in front of the sacred fire.
The fact is he stood up, but in his own way managing the conflict of being a husband and a king. He took the personal pain of separation at one end, but at the same time isolated the gossip mongers by keeping the golden idol of Sita for Aswamedha, making it very clear to the world he never suspected her purity even for a second. But unfortunately the world or the men took his action as punishing the victim and allowing the perpetuator of the crime go free, when they said Sita was banished because Ravan took her. So a woman has to suffer for a man's crime. His very act of protecting his wife's purity and chastity, has been used by patriarchal society to subjudicate the woman is the irony of the whole thing.

Beautifully written ! I was always interested in this part of the story !
Ram just didnt relieved Sita from all the Bashing , bt he took it upon himself.
There are a lot many things in the epic that we should learn .
thnx for PM , I would have missed this wonderful stuff.😳
Love,
