Looks like this kalyug isn't safe even for gods! A man from Bihar dragged Lord Rama to court on the charges of abandoning his wife Sita. And, living by the phrase no one is above the law of the land', the Indian judiciary system on Saturday had agreed upon listening to the petition on Monday. In what appears as a real life adaptation of popular movie OMG!, the case against the Hindu god created quite an uproar on the social media platforms. Though, it wasn't clear who would be attending the court hearing from the Vishnu's reincarnated late self, the man " a fresh LLB graduate " was all set with his side of arguments.
The plaintiff Thakur Chandan Singh, an advocate from Sitamarhi, Bihar, didn't spare Lord Rama's brother Laxman as well, against whom he pressed charges of helping the Hindu god in insulting Sita without any suitable justifications.
"The Devi was exiled (given vanvasa') for no fault of hers. It was a hypocritical order from king Rama. How can a man become so cruel to his wife that he sends her off to live in a forest?" Singh said in the complaint.
The court heard the case on Monday and quashed it, stating that the case was beyond logic. Singh's claims not only had social media in splits, but also landed him in legal soup. On Monday, three complaints were filed against him, under defamatory act, for tarnishing the god's image.
