Sam being guilt tripped.

Is it me or in past 2-3 seasons Dean has been kind of rough about Sam? I mean in the beginning it was all demon blood and fine was understandable but I feel like, Sam has gone through so much and so out of his way to fix everything, to seek forgiveness but I feel as if he still not truly forgiven, that his mistakes are still not overlooked and not only by Dean but others too.

I still remember the episode when Charlie finds the book of the damn and when Sam confides in her about what he had said to Dean after Gadreel episode. Charlie instantly went in 'depend Dean' mode and completely ignored Sam's pain and what he went through.

Now in just last episode he still felt the need to seek forgiveness of Dean for not looking for him in Purgatory. Why? And when Sam decided not to give up on Dean in S10 and it still made Dean mad. Why?

I feel that season after season Sam is still being guilt tripped by everyone and no one truly really understands him.

Is it really just me?

I agree there. Its not just one or two seasons, Sam's always supposed to do this or do that, react in a certain way and then do this and do that. If the guy even thinks about taking an off and just breathe, nope, not acceptable. 😳 I hated how the fandom and the writers keep reminding about, 'Sam hit a dog'. I mean, yes, I was so mad at him back then too but got over it after a while because Sam's also the one whose made numerous sacrifices and saved the world. As much as I disliked the entire Amelia set up and everything, I think its high time everyone stops guilt-riding him. However, this season seems better in terms of them both guilt-riding each other. In a way, Sam seeking Dean's forgiveness for not looking for him when he was in Purgatory was a great thing because the two never really got to sort that particular one out. It showed that Dean's forgiven him and the only thing that ever mattered to him and will always matter is they both being together. Since Lucifer is out, he'll obviously rub as much as salt as he can on those old nastily painful wounds.

Sam's pov is not a concept in this show. He has no POV. He is just suppose to react or cause trouble and seek forgiveness.

I completely agree with your points. This is what I am talking about it. Believe me, when I started SPN, I was part of this fandom where they all blame on Sam and I used to think 'oh.. he created another problem for Dean, etc'. But as show proceeded I just couldn't help but start to see things from Sam's POV and that broke my heart. Dean and Sam, both are so broken and both made messes, did things they are not proud of and yes, they have and will always continue to choose each other over rest of the world.

But, still... there has been this thing between them and also Sam+others. No matter what Sam does to make things right, no matter how much sacrifices it's all ends up people remembering his mistake rather than what he lost and how much he tried to make up for all of it. I really had liked Charlie but in that episode... that moment just made me dislike her so much.

@Bold - You are right, I forgot that they never cleared the air with this. I really hope that they would stop digging more graves to make Sam more guilt ridden.

🤔 Sorry but to clarify, is it your true opinion or it's sarcasm? Because, I am kind of confused.😆😳

Both, actually. But you should know, she uses sarcasm to express her displeasure. 😆
