Being an avatar of Vishnu, why he fought with Lord Ram another avatar of Vishnu? This is the basic question which none of us can stop from thinking. So here we go (just my view), we know the birth story of Parasuram. To dig the reason, we trace back the path again. The grandfather of parasuram, rishi Ruchika prepared two portions of mantra payasa for both his wife Satyavati and her mother (to get the heir to the throne). As Sathyavati's mother thought that rishi would have made special preparation for his own son, she exchanged the portions with her daughter. As per the mantra, Satyavati was expected to get a son of rishi character and her mother with kshatriya behaviour. When satyavati came to know this, she requested Ruchika to change such that the son be of sage and grandson be a warrior like kshatriya. So Ruchika son Jamadagni became a sage whereas his fifth son and sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Parasuram became the greatest warrior of all time. So Parasuram who himself was an avatar, failed to recognize Lord Ram infact who didn't know thyself because of his anger. For a Kshatriya, his kingdom, wealth, noble people all materialist things are way more important and he react w/o thinking the consequences. This is the reason always they had kulguru and rajbhakt ministers aside to give right suggestion at the right time. Parasuram was angry because he felt someone degraded his supremo dhanush and lack the knowledge to understand that an ordinary person can't even lift it.
Here, way back rishi Ruchika did genetic mutation, cross-over by Satyavati's mother and variation by Satyavati. It is not our current operations in genetic algorithm? The end result is the malfunction in parasuram.
The dasavatharam (incarnations) of Lord Vishnu explains beautiful evolutionary science,
1. Matsya - aquatic animal (living only in water)
2. Kurma - Amphibious
3. Varaha - Omnivores/ mammals
4. Narasimha - Mixture of man and animal (lion)/primates
5. Vamana - Human dwarf (primitive humans) and thiruvikraman big foot
6. Parasuram - Human with a weapon, conscious human
7. Lord Ram - moral man, outer awareness conscious human
8. Balrama - powerful man, (first surrogate child)
9. Krishna - Philosophical man, inner awareness conscious human
10. Kalki - God-realization, revitalization (Parasuram will be the martial instructor for Kalki)
This is the evolutionary theory described way back in vedic period.
What is not in our epics/vedas to run behind westerners to learn life. Even the earth rotates in a fashion such that sun rises first for east, so at least from now on we try to be a trend setter respecting our own values than be a blind western addict.
Note: Yesterday, I saw a program (marmam) in Tamil channel about saraswathi river. Though the document didn't render any definite conclusion but was quite interesting. But most of the speakers and even the end note was with reference to books/articles written by western authors. I am not against them, but can't we have our own edition as evidence? Why should we suppress our own identity?
