‘Happy she chose me’: Gaurav Khanna on Ishika Shahi’s upcoming show ‘The Zodiacs’

Young creator Ishika Shahi is known for making engaging digital shows like Double Trouble and Actors Roundtable for Director’s Kut Productions’ official YouTube channel. She is now all set to launch a new web series titled ‘Jabb Zodiacs Met’. The series features popular actor and recent Bigg Boss winner Gaurav Khanna as the Sutradhar, adding to the growing buzz around the project.

Sharing more about his role as the narrator, Gaurav says, “Being the narrator of this new series, 'Jabb Zodiacs Met' by DKP, has been really good. I did this before entering Bigg Boss. It was a two-three hour thing where I dubbed for the whole series of 12 episodes. I am the voice of this series and it was a lovely experience working with a new-age storyteller like Ishika Shahi. She got the best training under her father Rajan Shahi. He has been one of the most esteemed storytellers in our television. She comes from a pedigree; her mother (Pearl Grey) has also been a very good story writer, a creative, and a channel head in the past. I'm very happy to work with new-age storytellers.”

He further adds, “It was lovely experimenting because I always try to do something different from my earlier shows, so I wanted to get into voicing. As an actor, I feel it's a very challenging task to emote without showing your face. I'm happy that Ishika, Rajan sir, and Pearl ma'am have loved my work and now it's up to the viewer to watch the series.”

A Fresh Concept With Zodiac Connect

When asked about the title of the series, which has already sparked curiosity, Gaurav shares, “The title of the series is really catchy, and the whole idea is very unique. Ishika wanted to tell a story about how different zodiacs and temperaments come together, how people react differently, and the compatibility scores between them. It's new-age storytelling that Gen Z, new-age people, and even mature audiences will like.”

A Warm Association With DKP

Gaurav’s character in Anupamaa created a massive fan following, and he continues to receive immense love as Anuj wherever he goes. Speaking about his association with Director’s Kut Productions, he says, “Working with DKP again, even for a short stint of a few hours, was very heartwarming. It was like coming back home in a new way. DKP is known for television, but Ishika Shahi has taken a new route with this storytelling. I'm happy Ishika chose me as the voice of her series. Rajan sir told me that right from the start she said, "We want GK for this and we want his voice". I'm lucky and happy they chose me. DKP feels like home; whenever they want me for something that interests me, I will come back. Until then, I'm happy doing other things, and they are happy for the success coming my way.”
