Neither.

Mastani was a talented warrior princess who died for love & while that's great I find it wasteful of such life & potential.

Paro was a weak lady who pines away for an alcoholic depressive & allows herself to be married off to a man who was probably old enough to be her father; so my pick will be Kaashi. Not only did she love & live selflessly she dedicated her life to the orphaned son of her late husband Bajirao & his love, Mastani. She brought them up with care & treated her husbands lovers son as her own. Very very very few women could ever be so selfless, dignified & graceful in what the world clearly saw as her defeat- The discarded wife of a famous & valorous warrior, abandoned for a beautiful & bewitching princess. And a widow to boot , left to nourish young boys in an era when your only worth was when there was a man next to you.

To me she was a lovely blend of the good & the practical & PC's performance has subtly awed me enough to choose Kaashi as my pick for any female character from the worlds SLB so luxuriously brings alive.

so true ! 😳 Very well said ! 👏👏
Kashi all the way 😆

No one actually but Devdas' Paro was better than Mastani. Mastani was kind of selfish. What KashiBai had for Bajirao was the selfless love in all true sense!

i choose mastani
wat gud did paro marrying another man do? Devdas went into a drunken state, she didn't stay happy and he wasn't happy either, also the fact that she was still pining for him even after she got married didn't make the situation better for her family

And yes even though bajirao was already married, Mastani fought for her love and won the rite to be with her husband, people may call that selfish but bajirao also loved her aswelll so it wasn't one sided, and even though she was insulted by his family she still tried to live as much of a happy and peaceful life with him as she cud

but the bottom line is bhansali creates tragic heroines, they aren't perfect, which actually makes them more real, coz real people can be selfless yet also selfish, make mistakes, break each others hearts, r strong yet also weak. Bhansali tries to show all these shades in his heroines
