Good Madhyam are so important in life. Only if we can understand them at the time of events occuring like rishi Vishwamitra, life will become a wonderful journey.
Hope our destiny gives us good Madhyam in life. 😊

Knowledgeable people understand it and considers themselves to be blessed to be given such an oppourtunity. Just like Vishwamitra feels. A gratitude that destiny has choosen him to bring together Hari and Lakshmi in their earthly incarnation. Same should be with us. If something good happens through us, we have to feel blessed that destiny gave us that oppourtunity. We should never be egoistic and tell I made all this happen. No we don't because as rightly said by Meena we are only Madhyam.

Shruthi, if we perform our Karma as a witness, the realisation of being or experiencing a Madham becomes easy.
In Geeta, when Arjun was in dilema about his action of fighting with his own relatives, Krishna told him, they will be killed by me, you are just a Madhyam, so perform your duty.
I have always felt, the rishis of those Yugas, were so fotunate. They could understand & realise the course of events from perspective of seeing past, present & future. Their tough penance makes them capable of understanding many things.

hi, true that for every happening in this world ahs a medium or shall we say Madhyam. But normally no one bothers to recognize the Madhya when things go well and the madhyam will get the majority of the blame if things go wrong. Say like if a student pass his exams with high scores, no on will praise the teacher or the mother who put their 100% to make sure the student study rigorously and managing their time well but if the results are bad, the first ones go get all the blame are the mothers and then the teacher for their inefficiency in performing their duty. If the student gets high score, they say its his hard work and if he fails the teacher didn't teach well or mother didn't give enough attention towards the child, so this result. The child is not at fault but only the teacher & mother.

If a person achieves great heights, people price him form his morals, if the same person becomes a rogue, his father will be blamed for his upbringing. If a cricket team wins, the bowler & the batsman who scored more will be praised where as if it loses, team captain & the coach will be blamed as they are medium who were expected to do wonders for the team
We always should consider the teachers effort especially of her teachers from our primary schools, who groom us to learn properly, our parents who put away their time and energy to make us good citizens and self sufficient, our neighbors who supported us by teaching some games, the small vendors who taught us the value of money and value for money etc.
For example, Indra was the Medium for Ahilya's curse at the same time he was the medium for showcasing Ram's highness to the world for releasing Ahilya from the curse. But we blame Indra for the curse but never even consider himas medium for Ram's action. We blame Rishi Gautham for cursing his wife Ahilya but don't even remember he wa sthe one who gave an antidote to the curse by saying a Raghuvanshi will clear her curse and remove her sin. He was the reason for Ahilya seeing Lord Vishnu while he didn't had that opportunity for himself.

Well said deegaji, we rarely put effort in understanding, Mediums. It's sad these mediums are blamed at times for failure. Our parents, teachers play very important role in our life. Very few acknowlege them for their success.
Rishi Gautam's curse in a way was time for penance for Ahilya. She was'nt visible to anyone. It can be considered as an opportunity to divert her attention in praying, meditation. At the end of it she could see Chaturbhuj Vishnuji, who himself came to get her back in her Human form.

@jaya another wonderful perspective and so true also. Failures is one person's but success belong to everyone. Everyone wants to be associated with success. And that is why failure is feared and this fear many times hold back people to not even try.
Only if we fail we understand the problem of our methods. You talked about cricket team. When a team wins no one thinks about the fielder. But if it loses blame will be there that catch left, run out missed, extra run given all on sloppy fielding never mind what batsmen and bowlers did.
And the most interesting and weird was in this year's WC for Semifinal a leading batsman's GF was blamed for India's loss . If they had won would she have got the credit.
Everyone loves to find a madhyam or a scapegoat for failure. But success well that is mine.

@ Shruthi, not only this WC where the girl friend was blamed, even for downfall of Ganguly, his then girl friend was blamed saying she was the root cause for his decline. Poor girl, it was so hard blame that she lost chances in films and that was the decline of her career as well but no body said it was because of Saurav Ganguly.
Yes as the say goes, success has many fathers while failure has only a mother.

Beautiful post and very well written. Yes, I agree about madhyam specially success and failure and the character of a person. When a child gets high marks in his exam noone comes and gives the credit to the teacher and the mother but the moment he/she gets low marks the teacher and mother are blamed. And, if a child is characterless then again it's the mother who didn't give attention to him/her but if he/she is well behaved then the credit is solely given to the child.

Mother & teachers play an important role in developing a child's life. They are generally so selfless, that they give credit to child's efforts to encourage him, when he/ she is successful.

Yes, I agree. But, don't do they need a little bit of acknowledgement?

They should be appreciated & acknowledged. Like Ram acknowledges his Guru, rishi Vishwamitra's teaching in Taraka vadh. That's why Ram's character is inspiring. How he treats his mothers, father, guru, his people, brothers etc teaches a lot. There is something for every age group in this epic.
