What is the significance of a mangalsutra? Is it just like a wedding band? Or is it deeper in a sense that it means the woman belongs to her husband, a bit more old fashioned, for lack of a better word here, in terms of how the wearer and the one who puts it on are perceived in their respectful roles in the marriage?
For a while it seemed like this movie was about a career woman and her supportive stay at home husband. But now I'm wondering if they are going to portray Kareena's character as emasculating and Arjun's as someone who's doing what he's doing not because he wants to but because for whatever reason he doesn't think he can do any different; fear or low self esteem or whatever it maybe. And if it's the latter are they going to be clear about what these characters really are? Or are they going to present her as a "feminist" and him as a "modern husband" and basically screw the whole supposed message of the movie?
I'm not sure if I articulated what I'm thinking into words here. I hope you guys got what I'm trying to say/ask.

Why does he not take on roles where he plays the leads dad/older brother? Similar to what Kader Khan was for him in the 90's. That's surely...
So many I can name that qualify for stiff and sleepwalking characteristics: - Queen Aishwarya Rai - Katrina Kaif - Deepika Padukone - Jahnvi...
