Yesterday an online portal reported that Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone had apparently returned Rs. 10 crore and Rs. 5 crore respectively to the producers of Tamasha as the movie didn't perform as well as they thought it would. But a source close to the film and the people involved in it has completely denied this claim. Here's what the source revealed exclusively to us after this story started doing the rounds on the Internet:

Ranbir and Deepika are extremely proud of Tamasha. The entire team denies the rumours of the cast returning any money to the producers. They are extremely happy with all the love and critical acclaim that Tamasha received. All these rumours are absolutely baseless.

Why shud they return their fees? If the producers lost money then it's not the actors fault

The actors hav done thier job

deepika doesn't need to resort to these desperate measures

even with a flop tamasha she has critical acclaim for it and 2 big hits in the form of piku and BM..she is all safe

flopoor must be desperate since he has 4 back to back flops but for that he should pay the entire amount..deepika giving all her fees back to save a flop which doesn't even affect her..always sounded false to me

A lot of these actors getting overpaid is definitely a huge issue..Cos eventually the producers bear the brunt..But lets consider a few things here..Ranbir signed Tamasha 2 years back..When he was at his peak ( when the very same ppl here used to call him a 'superstar' who is on par with the Khans😆)..Obviously the producers din't anticipate that he'l become a nobody in 2 years..I doubt Ranbir knew it either 😆 Point is the producers were willing to pay 20 or 30 or 40 or whatever crores to him cos they thought they can recover the investment..I doubt anyone will pay 30 crores to Ranbir right now..But its weird that we are applying his current state retrospectively to the point when he signed the movie back when he was doing really well..Of course its a different thing that he can take moral responsibility and return some of it cos the film flopped and his star power din really come to the rescue..LOL @ he should return all his money..So him acting in a full length movie, promoting it like no tomorrow and saying ridiculous things, managing to get decent/ good reviews should all be done for free cos hey he delivered 4 disasters..Nice 😆
