First of all folks, Happy New Year! Best wishes for an amazing 2016. I know it has been a long time since I came in the forums ... Really have not found a show/ forum as engrossing as JA in its hey day. But, I couldn't resist saying hi for the New Year. And I have to give credit for Harrybird/ Anjali for her role in this.
And now for the return of the M&M thread, this time it is not for Motibai, Mahachuchak, or Murad. But rather, for its original purpose- Music and Madness (remember the epic 100 page thread?)
As many of you know, I love music and that is why I enjoyed my musical threads. Of late, I have had the time to dabble more with my musical interests.
For the New Year, I wanted to share a medley/ cover I created called "Prayer of Peace." It is a medley of two of my favorite songs, "Gurus of Peace" from Vande Mataram and "Vellai Pookal" from Kannanthil Muthammittal. Stringing together these songs in English, Hindi, and Tamil shows how peace is a universal language, as is music, as is a child's smile.
This is not professional but more my personal interest. It was a concept that came to me during the Paris attacks and since there they have been so many more incidents across the world. Most recently, I was deeply saddened to read about the Pathankot attacks and the martyrs who gave their lives to give us a more secure future.
So, today and everyday, I am praying for a more peaceful tomorrow. I have titled the medley "Prayer for Peace":
