It's really sad that shows like these which give out such a strong message, very much applicable to the current scenario is not getting the credit it deserves, while nonsense saas bahu and supernatural crap is rocking the trp charts.

Islam is most misunderstood religion
This show actually helped me in understanding the psych of terrorists, how innocents minds are played with but sadly such a great n needed concept is being in trash
Itsnot getting its due
And ofcourse Trps, wat to say? Its fasad ki jadh that should be rooted up so that k good content could be shown

Life has come full circle for noted Television actor Iqbal Khan, who made his TV debut in Ekta Kapoor's popular romantic musical Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai. Currently essaying the role of a terrorist in Ekta's new TV thriller Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, Iqbal is upbeat about the show. In an interview with Pinkvilla.com, the politically and socially aware actor, shared interesting tid-bits about his co-actor Mona Singh, producer Ekta Kapoor and much more. Read on.

How are you finding Mona Singh as a co-actor?

Working with Mona is fun. We are similar. We are fun loving. So, when we are happy, we work better.

What is the atmosphere on the sets is like?

The atmosphere on the sets is very positive and happy. Only when there are serious scenes not everyone is giggly. But even when a serious scene is being shot and we burst into laughter, only then it gets difficult to shoot.

Please tell us a few things about the enigmatic Ekta Kapoor that you have gathered during your association with her all these years.

I have been working with Ekta for almost 10 years. She is somebody who has changed the face of television. 10-12 years ago, there was only one production house that ruled the roost - and that was Balaji Telefilms. And years after, whatever show BT produced, others reproduced. So now we have a couple of more production house which are doing well.

Balaji has always been a mother company for TV. Ekta has been a force behind it. She knows what the audience wants. She strikes the nail on its head when it comes to delivering the viewers' expectations. Apart from that, I know that she is a child at heart and a much much much bigger person at heart now.

Did you need any grooming to prepare for your role in PKHJD?

When the show started the production house helped me in learning how a spy works.

How do you relate to your character?

I relate to my character full on ya, full on! There are so many people who get into this kind of nonsense. That is how religion plays with your mind. I recently read about 3 Indians who joined ISIS.

So, imagine what must have been going on in their head and how it must have played with their mind. It's disgusting. Being a Muslim, PKHJD is a platform for me to tell the viewers that Islam is about peace and terrorism has no religion.

How has Television changed over the years?

Yeh jo TRPs calculate karte hain na, woh I want to change in TV. There has to be some kind of uniformity in how they calculate TRPs.

It is really sad that stupid storylines are topping the charts where as PKHJD, a show that is giving out a good message and is also entertaining at the same time is languishing at the bottom... hats off to the writers and whoever had the vision to make this show..

I appreciate the guts of the actor to even be ready to take this character. I myself was skeptical about him playing the role knowing his religious belief and that too in present times amidst all controversy regarding intolerance. Now I know why he chose it and how much effort he has given to make Rizwan a human and not a monster.i wish him luck for his future endeavours.

About the show not getting trps and bidding adieu, I pity geneal masses taste and their so called preferences in entertainment. Its still all orthodox, regressive, blunt, pukeworthy trash which is liked by majority of india. We are not a superpower yet and if somehow our taste for art, culture, literature, films influence our dev, I am afraid we are not becoming developed suoerpower anytine soon. We lack vision, we fail to experiment with content, and if at all there is some efforts made, it goes down drain as it does not generate moolah.we are mediocre in true sense. Pathetic thought process of both the writers and the viewers seen in flims and tv. Long live trp aunties, they are living in dark, all the best to them fir keeping their eyes closed.

No offence meant to any. I am actually baffled to know the trp toppers have content of superstition, supernatural, extra marital affair and good for nothing pallu clad sanskari bahus. Unfortunately they fo not represent me and its better to completely get detached from indian content.

So proud of him! I was reading an article about him that 7 years back he was refused the USA visa bcz of his religion! He was suppose to buy his house from that payment he was gonna recieve of attending the confrence in USA but they refused him the visa. Iqbal said that the visa officer asked him that are u a known personality in india and he was too embarrased to tell so the indian ppl with her told the visa officer abt his popularity. His hands were blackened for finger prints and scans like some criminal. I am so happy he has got something to prove that his religion is not what its percieved to be. Stay blessed iqbal!

Lets not get into TRPs...Its a false bussiness and totally tym-waste to ponder over it!!Love reading his IVs...He is just too good in giving answers!!He is not only a classy actor but stands upri8 as an individual too!!!Hope atleast some one will get some sense by watching this show!!!That will be a big achievement in itself!!!TFS...PKHJD rocks!!!!

It really takes some serious guts to voice your thoughts so explicitly and I'm so so proud of him. Way to go Iqbal! 👏

Majority of the Indian audience are dumbheads and honestly they do not know how to respect content and novelty. It's a shame that such a good script is losing out to all the nonsensical crap in the name of entertainment. A big big thumbs down! 👎🏼

Ps: I'm glad I've followed shows like Reporters and PKHJD and I genuinely hope that we have makers who are ready to make such good shows and not succumb to unnecessary trp race.

I vaguely remember this Happened during Kavyanjali Phase . The officials had an Info about some Terrorist name Iqbal Khan .

And because of this Name Confusion IQ was Detained..

I am not at all Denying that particulary Muslims are always made to go through the Test.

Must be Really Insulting and Disheartening for them.

Its All because of the Wrong Image of Islam that has been put in Front of the World.

Supernatural / Superstitions are being shown currently on the Show and Actors/Actresses just to maintain the Celeb Status and Luxurious Life Style indirectly support such Stuff.

IQ has always been Different from THESE set of Actors.

Inspite of leaving serial midway bcoz he has not happy with the Track , still He still has Awesome Reputation and PH's still keep coming back to him.

Speaks Alot about his Body of Work.

His work , His Talent speaks for him .

By Selecting PKHJD , He had a Point to Prove ...

It must be irritating for him to see how the fate of this show has been decided by TRP.

Something that He wants to make People Educate them , Make Clarification for some Preconceived Notions... such Attempt of his is being brutally killed in the Name of TRP's.

Anyways I am really Proud of him as a Human Being .

The Message that He and the Serial wanted to show has been Reached well.. May be to Few in Numbers but It has ...

And My Respect for him has Increased even more now..

Thank You IQ, you have always made your Fans Proud Of You .

Rest about the TRP system , I have always blamed on the Viewers and the Channel. Viewers for not accepting Different Stuff and Channel for not being Gutsy enough to Show.

Its really Sad State ...

Hope there can be a Change in this...SOMEDAY...
