PM Narendra Modi, today, undertook an aerial survey of theaters across the country screening Dilwale, after receiving a string of news reports about victims traumatized by the Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer.
The development was announced by Press Information Bureau through a tweet that attached a pic of the PM peeping through his carrier's window and taking a look at the devastation caused by the Rohit Shetty movie. The PIB also followed the report up with a tweet declaring that the PM might soon announce a relief package for Dilwale victims.
While most victims who shelled out more than 300 Rupees to watch the movie have welcomed the PM's actions, a few remain skeptical. "You never know. He does this now, but soon, he might have dinner with Rohit Shetty and the crew," a disillusioned victim said.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi took the opportunity to lash out yet again at the PM. "India mein Swades kaun laaya? India mein Chak De India kaun laaya? [Who brought Swades in India? Who brought Chak de in India?] It was because of the Congress party that Shah Rukh Khan gave his most memorable movies in recent times. And after Modi became the PM, what have we seen? Happy New Year and Dilwale! I rest my case!" the National Herald case co-accused told The UnReal Times.
The Dilwale team, meanwhile, has cried vendetta and termed the move as a vindictive act against Shah Rukh Khan's recent claim that there was intolerance in the country. Sources, however, added that King Khan is planning to reach out to Delhi's top movie reviewer Arvind Kejriwal, who's also Delhi's Chief Minister, to review the movie, so that the film gets good collections at least in the National Capital Region. "Time to get back to where my life began. Dilli and Arvindji will save my life, inshallah! We need to maximize our collections in Delhi, before the odd-even rule begins next year," Shah Rukh reportedly said.
The Delhi Chief Minister, however, lashed out at Red Chillies Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Productions. "If you can't make good movies, then hand your production house to us. We are capable of far more entertaining drama and will do a much better job! Bachchon ki kasam! (I swear on my kids!)" the angry AAP chief thundered.
