So I just checked on Wikipedia .. looks like no more Bollywood films are releasing in 2015. Dilwale and BM released on 18th Dec and not many big films are coming in January as well (except for Airlift which will come towards the end of Jan)
Does that means that Dilwale and BM will keep on playing longer than they would have if they would have released at any other time of the year? No matter how crap a film, if you let it run for a straight few weeks without much competition, it will end up recovering money. That's unfair right? I mean if a good film runs for long then it is only fair but if a crap film runs for long just because there is no other major release then that's like totally going to end up making more money than it should have.
I think if Dilwale goes down on Monday then the cinema halls that are playing Dilwale would probably start playing BM instead. Is that right? Or will they have to continue playing Dilwale anyway and people would end up watching it because other than BM they have no other big option. How many times can someone watch BM, they will end up watching the other film anyway. Same goes for BM too .. people will watch it even if they've watched Dilwale because well it's Christmas/New Year's time and they would want an outing with family.
