The film is a remake of Ye Maya Chesava (Telugu)/Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (Tamil). It is an amazing love story of an elder girl and a younger boy. Was a rage in the South but could not register the same success in Hindi, Idk why. Although I agree the magic was missing that was seen in the Telugu/Tamil versions, still it was quite a decent film and needed more attention. Just wish the casting was better.. the acting was mostly mediocre.
The music though ❤️ A R Rahman delivered and how. One of his best works.

Did you watch this film? What did you think of it?

I love the Tamil version..The best part about the film was the climax which was obviously tweaked in the Telugu version and it took a lot away from the film IMO..The leads had great chemistry and the songs are love..The album was such a rage down South 😆

I liked both the endings, beautiful in their own ways. I found Samantha more impressive than Trisha and Simbu better than Chaitanya though.

I watched the telugu version and didn't understand what the hype is all about...I forced myself to sit through the movie and kept dozing all through...May be another actor would've made a difference but Chaitanya totally spoiled it for me...

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, the tamil version was the best<3 Simbu and trisha were amazing, watched this movie umpteen times in tamil.. Having said this, couldn't stand the telugu version at all, it was not that great IMO.. And hindi version din't even bother to watch it once due to Prateek and Amy 🤢

I don know..I found the ending in the Tamil version a lot more impactful and poignant..That conversation they have in the climax where she says she is not as good as he has portrayed her in the film and then when she requests him to move on is one of my favorites..And yeah, i agree..That is one reason why i wish it was Simbu and Samantha in the Tamil version though i din really mind Simbu and Trisha either 😆

I watched this in the cinema for some reason. I was surprised at how good Amy Jackson's acting was. Not only that, but her "Indianness" was shockingly authentic. This girl has the chops to go far.
I quite liked the film, 3 stars.

Tamil audience can accept tragedy, but telugu audiences want lovey dovey enings.. they are more inclined towards happy endings..😆
