Siya Ke Ram - The new game changer for Star Plus

After witnessing a fall in the last week due to Diwali, the viewership numbers of Hindi GEC genre has returned to its pre-Diwali level with all major players witnessing growth according to TAM.

But highest growth in the genre was seen by Star Plus by nearly 34 GRPs.

The major credit of this massive growth of Star Plus can be attributed directly to its new prime time launch of Siya Ke Ram, which not only boosted ratings of its slot but also provided support & growth to slots after it.

Because of lead-ins from Siya Ke Ram, Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan the show at 20:30 saw an increase in its reach levels ( from 2.8% in Week 46 to 5.3% in Week 47).

Besides the other shows of Star Plus, Diya aur Baati Hum & Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had plot highpoints in them which further supplemented the overall growth of Star Plus.

Also the opening episode ratings of Siya Ke Ram garnered 3.74 TVRs which has higher than fellow mythological counterparts - Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman (0.92 TVR) & Suryaputra Karna (1.06 TVR) both on Sony. Thus Siya Ke Ram proved to be a successful launch for Star Plus.

Meanwhile, other players like Sony SAB witnessed a growth due to increase in duration of their flagship property Taarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma. For Colors Viacom18 the growth was driven by increase in ratings of all weekday prime time properties.

Whereas for &TV the new launch of Adhuri Kahani Hamari & coupled with growth in numbers of driver property - Bhabhiji Ghar Pae Hai was the key stone of its growth to beyond 60 GRPs in Week 47.
