Imtiaz.. K-Jo etc are very popular among NRIs/desis. UTV releasing Tamasha in North America before showing it to critics seems worked like magic. Should K-Jo try the same for his movies?

I think he is planning to do the same for ADHM. Also release in Pakistan in a big way since Ranbir seems popular among Pakistanis. He is not sure of recovering investment banking on only Indian market.

But this process is kinda risky for movies which ahve twists and turns , like say kahani or Don. Tamasha mainly depended upon execution and performance, thats why it releasing abroad earlier is good for the film.But think if a movie liek don releases abroad and everyone gets to know the twist of don impersoanting vijay, all excitement would have been gone and opening would get hampered.ADHM looks like a movie with such few twists say aishwarya's role is not that clear and is imp to the story

Meaningful cinema, good cinema... no mater what NRIs on this board say or pretend, they actually love K-Jo, Imtiaz, Zoya fluffs: Movies that deal with first world problems, dil, dosti, coming-of-age. If these types of movies are released in NA one day prior to India/critics' preview, they'd get good WOM and it would manipulate Indian audiences' minds.

Imo, K-Jo should definitely try this.
