After ruling the roost with their last blockbuster, CHAK DE! INDIA, Yash Raj is facing a setback with their latest, LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG. The Pradeep Sarkar directed film has got mixed reviews, but the one person coming out trumps is the uncrowned Rani of Bollywood.
The audience may not have like the movie much but are stunned by Rani Mukherji's brilliant histrionics. LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG also marks the first full-fledged commercial role by Konkona and she is equal to the task. In his extended cameo, Abhishek also leaves a mark, as does Kunal Kapoor.
The movie which opened to a poor first day response (around 25 percent), saw a pick-up on 'Eid' day (around 50-60 percent), specially at the multiplexes, as it got overflow from BHOOL BHULAIYAA. The makers and distributors of the movie are still hopeful of a recovery.
As per Gaurav Pal of Yash Raj P P Associates, there are about 60 prints of the movie in the second largest territory of India, Delhi-U.P., though there was demand for more from the exhibitors.
