Lajwanti, Zee TV's period drama that showcases the love story of Sunderlal and Lajwanti set in the times of partition, has been much appreciated by audiences. Sid Makkar and Ankita Sharma effortlessly slip into their roles of the domineering man and his hopelessly-in-love, doting wife. As the love story is set in Lahore in the pre-partition era, the two are always seen in authentic Punjabi traditional wear. However, in the coming week the two will be seen donning western attire for the first time!
In the upcoming track, Lajjo will be seen dreaming about Sunderlal and herself as a Victorian prince and princess romancing each other in style. Meanwhile, an unknown man eyes Lajjo, leaving the possessive Sunderlal furious. He gets into a fist-fight with the stranger to protect his wife.
Ankita Sharma shares , "I am really excited to don this new look! It's the first time I'll be experimenting with a western outfit on the show and it's in complete contrast to my Punjabi kudi look. So, from elaborate beautiful patialas and exquisite jewellery, you will be seeing me in a pastel, embellished, lace gown with minimal jewellery . The colour of the dress, in particular, is one of my all-time favourites. Though I simply love my punjabi look that Lajwanti usually carries, it was a nice and refreshing change to look like a princess from the Victorian era!"
Sid Makkar said, "We had a lot of fun while shooting the dream sequence. We sat with the creative team and gave in our inputs to get the exact look that was needed. So it felt like a great collaborative effort and the results have turned out great." We can't wait to see the adorable couple who weave magic on-screen in a new Victorian look!
