ALIA, PARINEETI TEAM UP FOR FARAH'S NEXT

Mirror was the first to report about Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt teaming up for Gauri Shinde's yet-to-betitled next, a romantic drama. Now, Alia is all set to play the lead in SRK's upcoming production, to be directed by his bestie Farah Khan.
Touted as a women-centric drama and set to roll next year, the film also features Parineeti Chopra in a parallel lead. "Farah has been writing the script in Lonavala. The film required two girls in their 20s and Alia and Parineeti seem to fit the bill perfectly. Casting for the characters is currently underway. Nothing has been finalised yet," a spokesperson from the production house informed Mirror.
The Happy New Year filmmaker hasn't been able to finish the script so far owing to a constant inflow of choreography assignments. Before flying off to Hyderabad to shoot a song in SRK's Christmas release, Farah had told Mirror (September 7), "I think it's all a saajish... a conspiracy by Shah Rukh and Rohit (Shetty) to keep me away from making movies. Every time I sit down to write a film, they bring me back to choreograph a new song. How can I ever say no?"
Meanwhile, Alia and Parineeti's off-duty camaraderie has been well documented in the recent past with the actresses sharing the stage during the recently concluded MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, partnered by Mumbai Mirror and even posing for pictures together. Parineeti, who took a short break from films to work on her fitness, has been creating a lot of buzz with her newly acquired svelte figure.
