Well I am no fan of him but I think he knows what he is doing.Diwale will give him more exposure and fans among general public than some award winning critically acclaimed movies.He already did 2 movies this year which had him in solo lead.So Dilwale wont ruin his prospects.It was just a colourful addition to end year with bang.Much better than Sid's idea of wasting 1 year building body and rigorously training for a forgettable movie which gave him 15mins of screen space at max😆.

Sorry to break IF's bubble,but movies which critics loves dont often connect with the public.There is a reason why HSKD,SOTY,EV,HNY,ETT are continuously played on all movie channels while Lootera,Lunchbox,Rocket Singh heck even Queen/Kahaani are hardly heard of.

Thats a lot of pressure for someone who has only done 5 movies 😆 SuperHit/Blockbuster tags dont come that easy. But Im sure he will get there one day!

In terms of this topic and Varun going backwards. I dont agree with that at all, Varun's filmography has been extremely versatile and mixed up. Right after the rom-com HSKD he started this year with the edgy-dark film like Badlapur, and then did a dance film like ABCD2 and now this - all of these are very good choices I personally believe. You got to mix it up and I think he is hitting the right notes.

He might not have a blockbuster tag, but he is yet to have a flop. All of his films have been successful so far...How many others actors can say that?

I have to say though, people may not talk about VD's film online much, but there's plenty of appreciation for them in the real world. His films have so far appealed more to the kids so maybe that's why they're not talked about as much.

He's consistently gotten good reviews in all films. Give some credit where it's due. Too early to say he'll never match up to Ranbir and Ranveer.

please read threads before commenting. The TM has mentioned Ranveer in his post to which i am replying and putting forward my points. I don't know if you are a Varun fan but no need to get upset as you care about real world and not online world, right?😆

And i haven't said he is not a good actor, i just said i don't put him in same bracket as ranbir or ranveer as of now. i believe i am free to do so😊.

Tell me about it.

He is gone from one of the most promising actors when Badlapur released to nothing, in terms of doing different roles and genres. His plus point was that he stood out doing a dark thriller so early in his career.

At one point he had Badlapur, Intouchables remake (rumored but quite a few sources were on about it, so there must have been some truth in them) and Shuddhi coming up.

Now its one peice of crap after another.

I could care less about Dilwale, ABCD and Dishoom. Even as a fan, I wont pay to see that.

Its understandable that he wants to do movies that bring in big profits, who wouldnt?? But to sign on the crapiest of the lot, is the worry.

Badlapur to this day remains his biggest success, its the movie that propelled him to the next level. Yet thats the only movie of its kind that he has done so far.

All others have been the extensions of the same story/character; if you think about it. Its baffaling.

Lets hope he gets his act together, the chances seem slim though.

Any news on the Sriram movie he was in talks about??

Okay fair enough. I get your point, and you're entitled to your opinion. I reacted a little too strong but it just seems a little harsh and a bit unfair to say Varun's films aren't remembered. He has done well so far, clearly he's struck a cord with the audience.

Of course you're free to express your opinion. I'm not trying to argue. Peace. 😊
