Shah Rukh Khan headed to Dubai for 'Dilwale'

Ahead of the much-awaited trailer release of 'Dilwale' on Monday, organisers have confirmed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be headed to Dubai next month to promote his new film.

While it is still unclear whether Shah Rukh will lead the way for 'Dilwale's star-studded cast in tow, which includes Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, organisers at Sony Music Entertainment Middle East have confirmed with 'Emirates 24|7' that the superstar will be headed for the emirate around the second week of December.

Mike Fairburn, General Manager, Mena, stated: "We are planning to host a grand launch for 'Dilwale's music in Dubai, followed by welcoming Shah Rukh Khan himself to the emirate as part of the film promotions."

When quizzed, Fairburn stated the film is not likely to host its world premiere in Dubai akin to Shah Rukh's previous outing at the cinemas, 'Happy New Year', which was largely filmed in the emirate at Atlantis The Palm.

Fairburn added 'Dilwale's' first song will officially release on November 20, followed by the second on November 27th; the entire music album, featuring seven tracks by Pritam, will release first week December.

Sony has also stated international versions of the tracks will also coincide with the film's release, including a possible Arabic track.

The plot of the upcoming film remains a closely guarded secret, with director Rohit Shetty simply stating in the media to expect his brand of action and romance on the silver screen.

This could mean at least 10 cars blowing up on screen for the Shetty effect, while one of the recently released motion poster gives a glimpse of the Icelandic shoot where Shah Rukh and Kajol have filmed their romantic number, 'Gerwa'.

Karan Johar, film director, producer and close friend of Shah Rukh, shared his views of the trailer ahead of the red-carpet launch, stating: "Just saw the Dilwale trailer! Mega blockbuster alert! Mega action! Mega romance and mega family love... This winter gets hotter!"

'Dilwale' is slated to release on December 17 in UAE cinemas and a day later globally.

Ticket sales have already commenced for the movie locally, which will go head to head with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' and Hollywood's highly anticipated and locally filmed 'Star Wars'.
